From the west to the east, the old-world to the modern age, art has continuously evolved over time across the globe. It has always reflected ideas, emotions, and moments that are relevant to the world during certain periods. With this, Palacio de Memoria’s auction house, Casa de Memoria, will take you on a journey to explore the world in different eras through enduring masterpieces at the upcoming Primero auction on March 20, 2021, Saturday at 2 o’clock in the afternoon.
One of the highlight items for bidding at Primero is a pair of Qing Dynasty famille rose ginger jars with pedestals. These precious porcelain pieces are decorated with court scenes, while the wooden pedestals are characterized by scroll elements and claw feet – the perfect touch of chinoiserie for any home.
Also, among the must-see highlights are Primero’s selection of paintings – where classic meets contemporary, reflecting varying artistic expressions from different eras. Some of these include “Vase of Flowers” by Jose María Armengol Farré, “Joueur de flute et chevre” by Pablo Picasso, “Marilyn Monroe” by Andy Warhol, and “Toro y Toreros” by Salvador Dali.
It will also offer vintage furniture, such as a magnificent Italian paper desk in ebonized wood with ivory and bone inlay.
Casa’s Primero will also be showcasing an unrivaled ecclesiastic collection, including an oil on copper painting of the Holy Trinity; a Santo Niño wooden relief, a 16th century oil on wood painting of the Assumption of Mary; and an Indo-Portuguese Cristo Moribundo carved in ivory. Other special items at Primero are rare antiques, decorative art pieces, and collectibles.
