Yassi bids ‘Probinsyano’ good-bye, to appear on TV5 soon

It’s a career move. She will also explore the world of music next.

Yassi Pressman admits she had the time of her life playing the leading lady of Coco Martin in the top action series, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”

She does not deny that their team-up brought her popularity to a new level, so much so that she enjoyed some privileges.

“But I never took advantage of them naman,” said Yassi. “Kaya nga siguro, nagkasundo kami ni Coco. Likas na mabait siya.”

Why then did she leave “FPJ’s AngProbinsyano?”

“Well, I had this offer from Viva Entertainment,” she disclosed. “And after giving it a thought, I discussed it with Coco and some powers that be. I’m glad they understand.”

Yassi will soon start work on a TV5 series.

“Viva Artists Agency has also suggested that I do recording,” she revealed. “Since I sing naman professionally, I’m giving it a try.”

Speaking of Viva Artists Agency, it recently welcomed Cristina Gonzales to its stable.

The daughter of the late Jose Mari Gonzales, one of the handsomest actors of Sampaguita Pictures, Cristina, 50, was a formidable talent when she decided to join showbiz with her younger sister, Ana Margarita. Where could Ana Margarita be now?

Smart and friendly, Cristina was known as Kring Kring in the business. She quit when she married Alfred Romualdez and settled down in Tacloban.

The couple entered politics. Alfred served as mayor and congressman of Tacloban. Kring Kring also became mayor.

Kring Kring has decided to stage a comeback after 15 years of being absent from the entertainment world.

Incidentally, Kring Kring’s beautiful daughter, Sofia, a budding singer, is also a Viva artist.
Sofia has a younger sister, Diana.

It was inevitable that Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez live together after five years of being in a relationship.

That they will marry in time is also part of their plan.

Carla’s dad, actor Rey Abellana, thinks Tom will make a good husband and father.

Carla describes her relationship with Tom as imperfect, but they get along well.

“Siguro dahil mahal talaga namin ang isa’t isa,” she said.

Tom was born in the US. He came here to be part of “Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up.” After appearing in ABS-CBN shows, he decided to sign up with GMA.

Carla and Tom are together in the long-running Kapuso series, “Love of My Life,” starring showbiz icon Coney Reyes.

Aside from “ASAP Natin Ito,” new Kapamilya artist Janine Gutierrez will have two more projects: a series and a movie.

She has no idea yet who else will be part of the projects, but there are several actors and actresses she will be proud and excited to work with, including Liza Soberano. Janine admits she is a big fan of Liza and her partner, Enrique Gil.

Janine also said she is happy her decision to transfer to ABS-CBN has the support of her whole family, including her parents, Lotlot de Leon and Ramon Christopher, and her boyfriend, Rayver Cruz, who is on the rival network, GMA.

Another family member, her paternal grandmother, Pilita Corrales, is just so happy and proud of her.

Pilita, renowned as “Asia’s Queen of Songs,” is encouraging Janine to become a good singer.

Janine is a lot like her Mamita Pilita. She has the looks, the height, the charm, not to say, the elegance, of her gorgeous grandma.

No less than Bea Alonzo revealed that her movie with Alden Richards is pushing through.

It already has a title, “A Moment to Remember,” which will reportedly be co-produced by GMA Pictures and Viva Films.

We heard that Bea also has a Star Cinema project that will reunite her with John Lloyd Cruz.

Alden, meanwhile, has three shows: “Centerstage,” “All-Out Sundays,” and the daily noontime show, “Eat Bulaga.”

The busy star just turned 29 last January 2. Unlike previous years where he would have a party, usually at Concha’s, his restaurant near ABS-CBN, he just had an intimate celebration with his family to mark his birthday this year.

Concha’s closed its doors last year because of the pandemic.

“Nalulugi na nga raw kasi,” said a kibitzer.
