It’s not only online shoppers who are saying “Salamat, Shopee,” it’s also veteran host Willie Revillame.
The “Wowowin-Tutok To Win” host said it was during the lockdown period, while he was in his Puerto Galera resort, that he realized he wished he could give more help to a lot more people.
It was with his partnership with e-commerce platform Shopee that he was able to realize that dream.
He acknowledged the big help that Shopee provides, not only to his viewers who only need to call to receive cash.
“…Imagine mo ‘pag tinawagan ka, may P20,000, P5,000. Pag nag Shop & Shake ka, P50,000. Hindi ka na umaalis ng bahay, kahit nasaang lugar ka, nasaan ka, pwede kang manalo ng mga ‘yan,” he related, “Ang isa pang pinakaimportante, nakakatipid kami, nakakatipid ang production kasi Shopee ang nagbibigay ng papremyo, which is totoo naman.”
Last Monday, February 22, Willie was introduced as Shopee’s newest brand ambassador. The partnership comes after several successful runs of Shopee TV specials on GMA 7’s “Wowowin: Tutok to Win.”
“To be honest with you, eto first time in my life na gagawa ako big, big commercial,” he admitted, “Pwede ko naman hindi gawin ito, pero ang sarap na proud ka. A big company like Shopee na nagtiwala sa ‘yo, it means there is something in you, which is pagmamahal.
Pagmamahal na kasama mo Shopee.”
Fans can catch Willie on Shopee’s daily segments on “Wowowin: Tutok to Win” and monthly TV specials on GMA 7.
Martin Yu, director at Shopee Philippines, said, “Shopee Philippines is excited to kick off the first mega sale of the year with its newest brand ambassador Willie Revillame, who is one of the country’s biggest TV icons. Kuya Wil, as he is fondly called by Filipinos, has brought joy to millions during these trying times with his fun-loving personality on ‘Wowowin.’
Together with Willie Revillame, Shopee hopes to provide Filipinos with more meaningful and entertaining shopping experiences at our 3.3 – 4.4
