NOW it can be told. The reason why JC Santos never tried to woo Bela Padilla, his co-star in “100 Tula Para Kay Stella,” “The Day After Valentine’s, and last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) top grosser, “Miracle in Cell No. 7,” was he has always been in love with his wife now, Shyleena Herrera.
She was her crush in high school. But then they were destined to walk different paths – he became an actor and she, a chef.
But when they reconnected, JC wasted no time in making his intentions known to her parents. They immediately got married. JC told Allan Diones in an interview on the movie’s press con that he and Shyleena tied the knot in September and are now expecting their firstborn, a girl, due next month.
Bela is happy for JC, whom she considers a friend. The two are reunited in Viva Entertainment’s “On Vodka, Beers and Regrets,” which has Irene Emma Villamor at the helm.
The story is about washed-up actress and former child star Jane Pineda, played by Bela.
She has found comfort in alcohol. After a night of heavy drinking, she meets Francis (JC), a vocalist of a band.
Will the story of Jane and Francis have a happy ending?
“Well,” Direk Irene, who has a string of hits to her name, said: “you will have to find out after watching the movie.”
“Of Vodka, Beers and Regrets” is scheduled to open nationwide on February 5.
Matteo Guidicelli is also part of “Of Vodka, Beers and Regrets.”
Although it is now known that the actor and girlfriend Sarah Geronimo are engaged, they will not reveal when they are getting married.
Reports have it that they might marry in Italy before the year ends.
Now a Philippine Army Second Lieutenant, Matteo was recently seen with fellow members in the army distributing relief goods in an evacuation center in Bauan, Batangas.
Matteo is busy as well rehearsing for his action scenes in his first title role movie, “Pedro Penduko.”
Former child actress Kiray Celis swears that, at 24, she is still a virgin. She promises to remain so, until she gets married. And that may not happen soon, as she thinks she is still young to get married.
Besides, she has her career. She is in the soon to be released Regal Entertainment comedy, “D’Ninang,” with Ai Ai de las Alas and the new love team of Kisses Delavin and McCoy de Leon.
“I have no ka-love team in ‘D’Ninang’,” Kiray said. “But in real life, I have one.”
Kiray, of course, is referring to her non-showbiz boyfriend.
She proudly reveals that he not only loves her, but respects her too.
Sam Milby will work with Iza Calzado, Maricel Soriano and Jodi Sta. Maria in the series, “What Matters Most.”
Directing the series is FM Reyes, whose last directorial job was the top series, “Nang Ngumiti ang Langit.” Direk FM is the husband of actress Rita Avila.
Going back to Sam, his last teleserye was “Halik,” where he played the philandering husband of Yen Santos.
Alex Gonzaga, now engaged to Lipa City Councilor Mikee Morada, has revealed that Luis Manzano did court her ate, Toni, now married to Paul Soriano and mother to their son, Seve.
Luis, who is now in a two-year relationship with Jessy Mendiola, has remained friends with Toni but is now closer to Alex. They are together in the sitcom, “Home Sweetie Home (Sweet Home),” which also stars Toni, and the top game show, “I Can See Your Voice.”
