A joy to work with, a true actress, a pro… these are just some of the words used by directors Perci Intalan and Jun Lana to describe their “Unforgettable” star, singer-actress Sarah Geronimo.
She was even likened to award winners Nora Aunor and the late great Eddie Garcia. Informed of this, Sarah smiles shyly and says thanks.
It’s actually a bold move for the actress, as noted by Lana and Intalan, to use her celebrity to play an unconventional character. In Sarah’s words, her character Jasmine is a special girl full of love for those who care for her.
“She is a unique girl, special na human being kasi napaka pure ng puso, napaka honest, napaka loving. Goal lang nya sa buhay ay ibalik ang pasuklian ang pagmamahal ng lola nya na talaga nag alaga s kanya. So nung time na si Lola ang aalagaan, sya naman ang andun for her.”
She said her co-star, Milo the Jack Russell Terrier, makes her look forward to every shooting day.
“Stress-free po siyang katrabaho. One-take dog actor,” said the admitted dog lover.
As the two make their way to the City of Pines, they meet different kinds of people. With Jasmine’s sharp memory and Happy’s remarkable skills, they are able to help people somehow, touching lives in every place they pass by. And every step brings them closer to the person whose life Jasmine wants to save the most.
“The story is very simple yet familiar din, and very true. Hindi kailangan mag isip nang malalim na malakim. Heartwarming story for the whole family,” she said.
Sarah admitted there is pressure coming from her award-winning performance in “Miss Granny,” but as long as there are those who get to appreciate Viva Films’ “Unforgettable” and is touched by it, she is happy.
“Lahat ng project may pressure maka deliver, pero kung may isa, dalawa, tatlo, apat o gawin nating 10 na compliments tulad ng wow, ganda story or na touch ako, napaiyak ako, naka relate ako, more than enough na yun.”
Joining Sarah and Milo are Regine Velasquez, Anne Curtis, Cherie Gil, Tirso Cruz III, Yayo Aguila, Ara Mina, Kim Molina, Meg Imperial and Gina Pareño.
