Singing champion Ianna dela Torre launched her 11-track debut album under Star Music yesterday.
The lovely teen first showcased her talent at the World Championship of Performing Arts where she was the Junior Grand Champion and Champion Vocalist of the World honors in 2013. At the album launch, the 17-year-old charmer effortlessly impressed with her powerful pipes and cheery personality.
She performed “Wala Kang Kapalit,” a modern ballad about one’s unending love for someone and the regret that comes after the relationship’s end. The music video of “Wala Kang Kapalit,” featuring Karina Bautista and Aljon Mendoza, is on Myx and ABS-CBN Star Music’s YouTube channel.
Ianna said the song refers to the constants in life.
“This is for God and for my parents,” she said. “Sabi nga ng title, wala silang kapalit sa buhay.”
The album, “Ianna,” is produced by Joel Mendoza and features collaborations with some of the best composers in the OPM industry. It has a revival of Maestro Ryan Cayabyab’s “Kailan,” Rico J Puno’s “Together Forever” and David Foster’s “Through the Fire.”
The carrier single is the danceable “Pinapa.” It also has the originals “Always You,” “Love is Spelled Y-O-U,” “Kahit sa Panaginip Lang,” “Alam kKong Nandyan Ka,” and “Ang Sabi Mo.”
Ianna’s album is on various digital streaming platforms.
