If Janella were not pregnant, it would be so easy for her camp to deny it and say, “No, she’s not.”
JANELLA Salvador is said to be pregnant at 22. She’s now in England where her boyfriend, Markus Paterson, hails from. She has yet to confirm it but it’s easy to conclude the veracity about her condition because even her manager, Manny Valera, won’t answer the queries of writers who want to get his side and ask him about it.
If she were not pregnant, it would be so easy for Manny to say “No, she’s not.” But as they say, silence means consent. Her mom, Jenine Desiderio, has already flown to England to be with her when the stork comes to visit.
Too bad for Janella because she has just recovered from that Elmo Magalona brouhaha, where she was reportedly a battered girlfriend. She was able to bounce back when ABS-CBN gave her a hit soap, “Killer Bride,” where she was paired with Joshua Garcia and their love team clicked with the fans. But rumors linking them were quickly killed by the reports that she’s actually dating Markus. Now, some fans are bashing Markus for ruining Janella’s career.
Markus was born in England and was a football player when he joined the all-male group contest, “Boyband Ph,” four years ago. He didn’t win “Boyband Ph,” but he branched out into acting, did several episodes of “MKK” and played supporting roles in soaps like “La Luna Sangre” and “Sana Dalawa ang Puso Ko,” and movies like “Babaeng Allergic sa Wifi” and “Dead Kids.”
Will Janella and Markus eventually be able to continue their showbiz careers after having a baby? Why not? Fans now are so forgiving and they don’t mind even if the stars they idolize are unwed parents.
Winwyn Marquez got positive feedback for her portrayal of a beauty pageant title holder who defied her mom, Gloria Diaz, and became a radical activist who took to the mountains in Joel Lamangan’s mini-series, “Beauty Queens.” It was shot before the lockdown yet, so she’s happy to now get a new acting assignment in GMA-7’s new drama anthology, “I Can See You.”
“It’s really nice to act before the cameras again,” she said. “Na-miss ko. I’m in the episode, ‘High Rise Lovers,’ with Lovi Poe and Tom Rodriguez. We shot on a lock in taping at Clark in Pampanga for four straight days. Walang uwian. At first, medyo takot because of the virus.
But the production staff was very careful with all their safety protocols to make sure no one got infected while we were taping the show.”
Winwyn also just finished taking the Basic Citizen’s Military Training and she found it very helpful in instituting discipline.
“We all need good discipline kasi kung alam mo sa sarili na disiplinado ko, you can easily achieve your goals,” she said. “If you have the right motivation to be an achiever, it will surely push you and give you strength. If you don’t have the right discipline, walang right direction ang moves mo and it will take time before you can reach your objectives.”
She herself already demonstrated this when she joined the 2017 Reina HispanoAmericana and really trained hard and did everything for her to bag the title.
What can she say that her ex, Mark Herras, is about to become a father again with his partner, Nicole Donesa?
“I haven’t seen him for so long. But what can I say but I just wish him all the best. A baby is always a blessing.”
Gabbi Garcia just got her Gold Play Button, given by YouTube to content creators with one million subscribers in their own channel.
“It paid off, lahat ng paghihirap ko personally tending to my vlog,” she said. “Nakaka-inspire magtrabaho dahil dito. Nakatulong ang lockdown na walang taping kaya nakapag-devote ako talaga ng time for my vlog.”
Her first entry was a tour of the newly constructed home for their family which she built in a 350-square meter lot in Parañaque. It was a hit with her followers, specially when she showed her incredible walk-in closet containing her flashy clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories.
She also thanked her boyfriend, Khalil Ramos, who helped her with her vlog like her own one-man production team. They streamed the unboxing of her Gold Play Button on her blog.
What does she miss the most while we’re still on lockdown?
“Traveling. Our family usually goes abroad every year for bonding. Kasi my mom is a flight attendant, so may discount kami sa airfare. Pero hindi nangyari ‘yun ngayon because of the pandemic. Kaya sana, matapos na itong health crisis na ito so we can all go back to our normal lives na hindi tayo natatakot lumabas at mag-travel.”
Adrianna So was discovered when she joined TV5’s “Artista Academy.” She wasn’t really given any good breaks there but now, Perci Intalan of IdeaFirst Company, who’s also managing her, is making her play the title role in the very first GL (girls love) series, “Pearl Next Door.”
Adrianna was initially noticed as Pearl in the hit BL (boys love) series, “Gameboys,” where she played the perky best friend of Kokoy de Santos. So you can say that “Pearl Next Door” is a spin off on “Gameboys” and they even have the same director, Ivan Payawal, but a different writer, Keavy Vicente, who wrote the movie “Distance,” which proved to be prophetic as it also included Adrianna playing a lesbian character.
“Doing ‘Pearl Next Door’ is so exciting,” said Adrianna. “But also very challenging. Bago kasi ‘yung material, so I’m still slowly trying to figure it out. Lahat ng involved sa show, including all my co-stars are all good and professional. And we have so many surprises, so I hope and pray that viewers will support it the way they did ‘Gameboys’.”
