IT has been years since Lotlot de Leon and Ramon Christopher “Monching” Gutierrez separated.
Lotlot, in fact, has remarried. She is now the wife of Lebanese businessman Fadi El Soury.
She and Fadi have no children. But Lotlot and Monching have four kids – one boy and three girls – all of whom live with their dad.
“But we remain close to our mom,” said Diego, the couple’s only son. “For whatever important event or decision in my life, I want her and my dad around.”
So at the contract signing of Diego as a talent of noted manager Leo Dominguez both his parents were around.
Leo also handles the showbiz career of Lotlot and Diego’s sister, Janine.
A Marketing graduate from the University of Asia and the Pacific, Diego is tall and handsome. Standing at nearly six feet, Diego originally wanted to become a professional basketball player but has decided to give showbiz a try.
His movie idol is his uncle, Richard Gutierrez. Diego said he would not mind doing a project with Richard. He also would welcome working with his parents and sister Janine.
Veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez turned 78 on his birthday last February 6.
Still handsome and fit, the former matinee star has no plans of slowing down.
He currently plays the grandfather of Liza Soberano in the trending series, “Make It With
You,” which also stars Enrique Gil, Katya Santos, Ian Veneracion and former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista.
Eddie was 18 when he joined showbiz. There were no social media then, and no talent manager.
“Kailangan, magpapansin ka, para, kumbaga, mapansin ka,” Eddie recalled in an interview.
“In my case, biglang napansin ako ng aking mga bosses sa Sampaguita Pictures, when they paired with Susan (Roces). Immediately the two of us clicked as a love team.”
Aside from Susan Roces, Eddie worked with several other beautiful faces, including the late Amalia Fuentes, who was tagged the “Elizabeth Taylor of the Philippines.”
In real life, Eddie admits his wife, Annabelle Rama, is his lucky charm.
“Ang tiyaga niya sa akin. At mabait na asawa,” he said.
Eddie and Annabelle have been together for 46 years.
Did we hear it right that Nora Aunor is considering retirement?
The 66-year-old actress, currently starring in the GMA 7 series, “Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit,” was said to have joked to co-star Mylene Dizon, “Feeling ko, nabilang ko na halos lahat ng bituin sa langit. I’m not young anymore.”
Mylene said she understands the sentiments of Guy (Nora’s nickname), but she cannot imagine showbiz without the actress. Mylene said Guy deserves the tag superstar.
“At ang ganda rin ng kuwento kung paano niya narating ang kanyang kinalalagyan ngayon,” said Mylene. “Sobra siyang talented as an actress.”
Guy has an entry in the Summer Metro Manila Film Festival slated next month, “Isa Pang Bahaghari,” which also stars Phillip Salvador and Michael de Mesa.
Angelica Panganiban and Coco Martin are in Dubai filming “Love or Money,” their entry in the summer film fest.
Produced by Star Cinema, “Love or Money” has Mae Cruz at the helm.
The film was supposed to be a Valentine offering, but the production was unable to meet the deadline.
“Ako, I have no regrets kung na-postpone ang showing ng pelikula. There must be a reason,” said Angelica. “Sabi nga, everything happens for a reason.”
Angelica’s attitude extends to her life. She has learned to accept whatever cards she is dealt with. The 33-year-old actress no longer wonders when she will become a wife and mother.
She has never made secret her love affairs. She was very young when she and Carlo Aquino became sweethearts. Years after, she fell hard for Derek Ramsey. She was also involved in a long-term relationship with John Lloyd Cruz.
She reunited with Carlo, and starred together in the movie “Exes Baggage” (2018).
Carlo now is in a relationship with model Trina Candazo. Derek is in love with Andrea del Rosario, while John Lloyd is said to be single again.
The summer film fest entry “Tagpuan,” which is a romantic movie features Shaina Magdayao at her wildest.
The former child actress Shaina is said to be playing a wild girl. She will have several love scenes with co-star Alfred Vargas.
“It will surprise her Ate Vina (Morales),” said a source.
“Tagpuan” also stars Iza Calzado and has Mac Alejandre at the helm.
Shaina currently plays a police officer in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” the primetime series on ABS-CBN.
