AFTER Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli’s surprise wedding, two couples who are set to tie the knot are Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati and Kris Bernal and Chinese businessman Perry Choi.
Richard and Sarah’s altar date is on March 14 in Switzerland. Richard’s family and of course, Sarah’s folks, her Moroccan dad and Filipina mom, are expected to attend with the couple’s friends.
The 26-year-old bride-to-be has been to Paris thrice for her wedding gown.
Richard and two sons, Zion and Kai, have suits made from abroad.
Annabelle Rama is very secretive when it comes to her gown.
“Basta, ‘di ako pahuhuli,” she promised.
Meanwhile, Kris and Perry’s wedding is said to happen in May.
“Kaya pag-u-usapan pa lang ang mga detalye,” said someone close to Kris. “Gusto niya dito sa Pilipinas ganapin. For their honeymoon, though, Kris wants to tour Europe with her groom.”
Kris has her own make up line, She Cosmetics, made in partnership with Korean cosmetic brand Nuni Busher.
Sheryn Regis is back for good, after a 10-year stay in the US.
The singer, tagged as “The Crystal Voice of Asia” in her heyday, was Erik Santos’ runner-up in ABS-CBN’s “Star in a Million” (2003).
“Ganunpaman, like Erik, I had my time,” she said.
“I had projects without let-up. I recorded four solo albums that were certified platinum and gold. Likewise, I had numerous collaborations with Filipino artists and sang the theme songs of Kapamilya soaps. Feel ko, I was on top of the world.”
Then, she left for the US to get married and start a family. Everything was going well until she felt pain in her throat. A visit to her doctor revealed she had throat cancer. She acceded to surgery and now, after treatments, she is free from the Big C, and free to do what she does best – sing.
Sheryn is back to performing in her first concert in 10 years, “Back to Love,” with Erik Santos on February 28 at the Music Museum.
She is looking forward to being active again, as she has realized that, like one of her favorite songs, “Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan,” she cannot turn her back on music.
Lovi Poe has no plans of settling down now.
The 31-year-old actress says she enjoys her relationship with scientist Montgomery Blencowe, but marriage is not yet in the horizon.
She is busy with her career, and is currently promoting her Viva movie, “Hindi Tayo Puwede,” with Tony Labrusca and Marco Gumabao.
“I’m still enjoying the game,” Lovi said, “At para bang nakapahihinayang naman na iwanan ko ito, samantalang I’m in demand pa rin naman.”
“Hindi Tayo Pwede,” directed by Joel Lamangan and written by Ricky Lee, is described as a gripping love story.
“Matetensiyon ang manonood sa love scenes ng tatlo,” said Lamangan, “Bale ba sanay sina Tony at Marco sa matitinding love scenes with their leading ladies. Napanood natin how Tony romanced Angel Aquino in ‘Glorious.’ Si Marco naman was with Anne Curtis in ‘Just a Stranger.’ In the case of Lovi, I already handled her in ‘The Bride and The Lover,’ where she had intense love scenes with Paulo Avelino. More aggressive pa siya in her love scenes with Tony and Marco, who are both palaban, too.”
“Hindi Tayo Pwede” is set to open nationwide on March 4.
