MISS Grand Philippines Samantha Mae Bernardo, 27, will aim for the country’s first every Miss Grand International title at the 8th edition of the annual beauty pageant when the grand finals and coronation gathers 63 delegates worldwide at the state-of-the-art Show DC Hall in Bangkok, Thailand tomorrow.
The earliest contestant to arrive in Bangkok, 5-foot-8 Sam, a native of Puerto Princesa, Palawan and twice runner-up at Binibining Pilipinas (in 2018 and 2019), was on her third try at the ongoing national pageant when she was plucked from the roster to compete in Bangkok after reigning Binibining Pilipinas Grand International Andrea Abesamis was unable to compete due to age restrictions.
Sam wowed netizens with her “GrandNada walk” during the swimsuit challenge where she made it to the top 10 via online voting, at the same time attributed her pasarela skills to Kagandahang Flores’ head Rodgil Flores and senior trainer Georgette Garrido. She thanks Gold’s Gym’s Angelo Mendez for her perfectly toned body.
Sam impressed pageant fans once more with a spectacular costume created by Patrick Isorena last Wednesday. The crucial closed-door interviews were held last Monday while the equally important preliminary competitions were held yesterday.
Pageant Watch wishes Sam Bernardo all the best in tomorrow’s finals.
