POPS Fernandez and Martin Nievera will help usher in the New Year with hopeful songs and lots of wonderful numbers for revelers this December 31 at The Tent at Solaire.
The Philippine concert royalties will welcome the New Year by belting out tunes and dancing to favorites in “The Royal Affair: 2020 New Year’s Eve Countdown.”
The effervescent ex-couple are one pair who are able to work together – and perform harmoniously – in spite of their separation. Pops, in an interview at The Red Lantern in Solaire, said she cannot explain the chemistry they have, even revealing that when it comes to their spiels, they are best when spontaneous, but she is glad that they really work well together and their rapport remains strong.
They have just come from a sold-out tour in the United States, and will most likely be seen together again in the country soon, added Pops.
Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez gained their respective stardom as individual performers in the ‘80s, but it proved that together, they were a force to reckon with. An undeniable chemistry that often eludes pairs on stage radiated naturally between the two artists – a quality that has set them apart from music icons then, and even now. Their perfectly complementing voices, exciting energy, entertaining repertoires, and engaging rapport have drawn unprecedented crowds that have come to be their loyal following until today.
Aside from awesome entertainment, “The Royal Affair” will be an evening of free-flowing beverages, fine dining, and music from the quartet Fourtissimo and showband Red Picasso, who will rouse the celebrations with their smooth and seamless tones.
There will also be a poolside after-party and an incredible drone exhibition, plus the music of 3rd Avenue and performance by the leading men and leading ladies of Philippine Theatre – Arman Ferrer, Floyd Tena, and Gian Magdangal, Shiela Valderrama-Martinez, Carla Laforteza, and Yanah Laurel. Adding more glamor to this New Year’s bash, Solaire’s Waterside will rewind the decades decked in art deco gold and platinum with hits from the roaring 20s to the blazing 2000s all the way to the hip tunes of the present starting at 7 p.m. with a live feed of poolside countdown beginning at 11 p.m.
“The Royal Affair” prices start at P8,000 for Silver, P10,000 for Gold, and P15,000 for Platinum. The tickets are available at Ticketworld (www.ticketworld.com.ph or 8891-9999). For more information, call 8888-8888.
