Pops gets along with Martin’s gf

ANDREA Brillantes said she couldn’t help but cry at the last taping day of their series, “Kadenang Ginto,” which aired for sixteen months.

“Mami-miss ko ang gumising ng alas kuwatro tuwing may taping kami, since I don’t want to be late,” said Andrea. “Early ang call time namin. And everyone comes on time – the stars, the crew, the staff and pati ‘yung tinaguriang coffee boys – yung mga napapakiusapan naming kumuha ng ganun at ganito kapag nag-start na ang taping or before the camera starts rolling.”

The “Kadenang Ginto” cast has become pretty solid. The whole “Gold Squad” – Andrea, Seth Fedelin, Kyle Echarri and Francine Diaz – is tightly knit. They also are close to the more senior stars, Dimples Romana, Beauty Gonzales, Albert Martinez, Richard Yap, Joko Diaz and Adrian Alandy.

“They were all kind to me,” Andrea said. “I wish I can work with them soon again.”

The young star has no idea what her next assignment is, but she is praying for work.

“Kailangan pa naming i-furnish ang aming bahay,” said Andrea, referring to their new three-storey house that was built, thanks to her earnings from “Kadenang Ginto.”

“At least ngayon ‘di na kami uupa ng bahay. Unlike noon na tuwing katapusan ng buwan, pinuproblema na namin ng parents ko ang pambayad ng renta.”

Andrea started as a child star. She was seven when she played the title role in “Annaliza,” with Zanjoe Marudo and Kaye Abad.

The 16-year-old said she wants to finish college. She currently attends classes via a home study program.

“Naisip ko kasi, iba pa rin kung may pinag-aralan ka,” she said.

Xia Vigor’s biggest wish is to have a pet dog.

“Maski one lang,” the 10-year-old says. “Although I want 10! Yes, different breeds.”

But pets are not allowed in the condo where they stay.

“Maski bird,” the child star added.

Xia, a contract star of Viva Entertainment, made her mark playing the daughter of Aga Muhlach in the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) top grosser, “Miracle in Cell No. 7.”

“I became close to Tito Aga, na mahilig pala sa pets,” she revealed. “In my conversation with him, he told me he had several pet dogs in their house in Ayala Alabang.

“Dog lovers din daw kasi ang kambal niyang anak, na sina Ate Atasha at Kuya Andres,” she added.

Donnalyn Bartolome, popular vlogger, actress, singer and songwriter, actress, has just renewed her contract with Viva Entertainment.

Donnalyn is a contemporary of Nadine Lustre. They both started in their teens.

“Sinuwerte nang husto si Nadine,” a kibitzer said, “Sana, ma-resolve niya ang kanyang problem with Viva Entertainment. Iba pa rin kapag tumatanaw ka ng utang na loob.”

Viva Artists, headed by Veronique del Rosario-Corpuz, also signed up Kara Madrid and Benj Manalo, son of Jose Manalo of “Eat Bulaga.”

Concert royalties Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez remain a family, two decades after the breakup of their marriage.

Even Martin’s girlfriend, Anjie del Rosario, is in good terms with Pops.

The ex-couple have two sons, Robin and Ram, now both professionals. The two are also into music.

“I still have so much respect for Pops,” Martin said. “That’s why, when she proposed that we hold a concert, titled ‘Two-Gether Again,’ which she is producing, I agreed without any second thoughts.”

    “Two-Gether Again” is scheduled on February 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 at Solaire.

Asked how much talent fee he is getting, Martin simply said: “For Pops, I’ll do anything.

“It’s because of her that I have two grown sons na pwedeng ipagmalaki ng kahit sinong magulang,” he added.

Martin turned 58 on his birthday last February 5.

Pops and Martin hope their eldest son, Robin, who is abroad, will be able to perform at the concert.

We suggested they also invite singer Zia Quizon, who is the girlfriend of Robin.

Zia, of course, is the daughter of Zsa Zsa Padilla with the late Comedy King, Dolphy.
