OUR best wishes to Miss World – Philippines 2019 Michelle Marquez Dee who was given a rousing sendoff this last Wednesday at Nanka Japanese Steakhouse in Quezon City by the Miss World Philippines Organization led by CEO Arnold Vegafria and general manager Arnold Mercado, and GMA Artist Center.
Michelle will leave on November 19 for London to vie for the Philippines’ second Miss World crown (after Megan Young) at the 69th edition of the longest-running global beauty contest in the world.
“Miss World is not just about finding the prettiest among the group, but finding the girl that had the most to offer not only for her country but for the whole world as well,” Michelle shared during the press event.
Michelle has been working with the Autism Society of the Philippines to make the Philippines an autism-OK nation. She also enjoined netizens to support her for the pageant’s Multi Media Challenge.
Michelle was sent off by her youngest brother Abe Lawyer and fellow Miss World Philippines 2019 titlists namely Miss Eco Philippines Kelley Day, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas Katrina Llegado (who came home from Bolivia after the tilt was tentatively moved to February 2020), Miss Multinational Philippines Isabelle de Leon, Miss Eco Teen Philippines Mary Daena Resurreccion, Miss Tourism Philippines Glyssa Perez and 2nd Princess Kristi Banks.
Michelle hopes to continue the legacy of beauty in her family. Her mom, after all, is former supermodel and 1979 Miss International Melanie Marquez, while her cousin is Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 Winwyn Marquez.
The 69th Miss World finals will take place on December 14 at the Excel Arena in London and will air live on GMA 7 at 10 p.m. that same day.
Special congratulations to the Mrs. Tourism pageant organizers led by Ovette Ricalde for its “Sponsor a Release” program where its candidates, representing various countries worldwide, supported our PDL (Persons Deprived of Liberty) by showing interest and buying paintings made by them.
One PDL will be released before Christmas due to the kind support of our candidates who shared the cost of his release bail.
