Actress Angel Locsin has been recognized for her generosity by Forbes.
The 34-year-old actress was cited as one of “30 outstanding altruists” in Forbes’ 13 annual Heroes of Philanthropy list in Asia Pacific. Angel has been consistent in her charity works and social outreach programs. Just last month, she was spotted with fiancé, producer Neil Arce, buying relief goods and personally distributing them in the quake-affected Davao del Sur.
The “Darna” actress is admired not only for her generous heart, but also for choosing to stay quiet when she does her donations. In the past, the Philippines Red Cross volunteer was also active in raising funds and distributing goods for the survivors of super typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan) that hit the country in 2013 and left thousands dead.
She sold her vintage car in an auction and donated all the proceeds to the survivors. She partnered with Anne Curtis in 2009 to raise funds for the victims of Tropical Storm Ondoy.
Billionaire mogul Hans Sy was also in the list for his philanthropic works. He donated the building of ChildHaus in Manila. ChildHaus, started by beauty maven Ricky Reyes, is a temporary shelter for cancer-afflicted kids and their guardians.
