Philippine Youth Commission (PYC) appointed Star Magic artist Gerald Anderson as ambassador in a ceremony held December 8, at the Grand Ballroom of Venus Hotel in Baguio City.

“I’m very honored, very proud and I’m very excited kasi merong panibagong platform para makatulong sa ibang tao,” said Gerald.

The ceremony was led by Kabataang Sama-samang Maglilingkod (KASAMA) President Gerald Ortiz with Union of Local Authority of the Philippines (ULAP) President and Quirino Governor Dakila “Dax” Cua, KASAMA National Adviser Nellie King and Senator Imee Marcos.

During his speech to almost nine hundred Sangguniang Kabataan leaders all over the Philippines, Gerald talked about the role of a celebrity after his experience during Ondoy in 2009.

The actor greatly admires his mom, Vangie, for her generous heart.

“Gagawa talaga siya ng paraan para makatulong sa iba,” he said.

When asked about his plans for the youth, he said: “Unang-una makapagbigay ng inspiration at ipakita kung gaano kaimportante tumulong sa iba basta kaya natin.

Dingdong Dantes was the last PSY ambassador in 2004 after Rico Yan.
