For “Isa Pa With Feelings,” Carlo Aquino and Maine Mendoza had to both learn sign language.

Carlo is hearing-impaired in the film and Maine plays his girlfriend.

“I am supposed to have normal hearing sa movie,” said Maine. “Pero I need to constantly communicate with him.

“Ang ganda when we are communicating in sign language. Feeling ko, asset ng movie ‘yun.”

Aside from seeing Carlo and Maine communicate through sign, a highlight of the movie is their passionate kiss in the end.

We wonder how Maine’s boyfriend, actor Arjo Atayde, would feel once he sees the movie.

“Isa Pa With Feelings,” directed by Prime Cruz, had a star-studded premiere at the Cinema 7 of SM Megamall last Thursday.

As the film is co-produced by Black Sheep Productions and APT Entertainment, which produces the noontime show where Maine is a mainstay, GMA’s “Eat Bulaga,” a number of Kapuso talents and executives were present, including APT’s Tony Tuviera and his wife, actor Benjie Paras, actress Angelica de la Cruz, comedienne Ruby Rodriguez, child actor Baste Grafon, host-actor Vic Sotto and wife, Pauleen Luna.

ABS-CBN anchor Julius Babao was also there with his wife, Tintin Bersola Babao.

Star Cinema’s managing director, Olive Lamasan, was also in attendance.

Beauty Gonzales and Teejay Marquez play mother and son in Star Cinema’s gripping supernatural thriller, “Hellcome Home.”

But do you know that Beauty is only two years older than Teejay, who is 26? But Beauty is really a mom. She has a two-year-old daughter, Olivia, with husband, Norman Crisologo.

“Actually, ‘di rin nga makapaniwala si Ate Beauty na 26 na ako,” related Teejay. “Am I glad na mukhang bata ako kesa edad ko.”

When director Bobby Bonifacio, Jr. chose Teejay for “Hellcome Home,” he did so because he felt Teejay fit the role to a T.

And he is glad, Direk Bobby added, that Teejay did not fail him.

“May pag-asang maging mas magaling siyang artista, if he keeps getting a good role,” the director further disclosed. “I would be glad to have him work with me in my next assignment.”

Direk Bobby last directed “Hospicio,” which was last year’s Cinema One Originals top grosser. “Hellcome Home” is not his first assignment for Star Cinema, as he directed “You’re Still the One,” co-starring Maja Salvador and Richard yap in 2015.

“Itong ‘Hellcome’ ang first big horror flick kong idinirek. And my first time to work with the cast – na ang gagaling,” he remarked with pride.

Aside from Beauty and Teejay, Raymong Bagatsing, Dennis Trillo, Alyssa Muhlach, Gillian Vicencio, Miel Francisco and child stars Nhikey Calma and Baby Starr are also in the cast.
“Hellcome Home” is set to open in theaters starting October 30.

“Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Otso” grand winner Yam Yam Gucong happily announced he is included in the Vhong Navarro movie, “Mang Kepweng.” He will play his sidekick, he was told.

“I promise I will do my best para ‘di ako mapahiya kay Kuya Vhong,” Yam Yam, in an interview, said. “Magkasama, kami sa ‘Home Sweetie Home’ at saksi ako kung gaano siya kagaling lalo na sa comedy.”

Aside from Vhong and Yam Yam, the five-year-old sitcom “Home Sweetie Home” also stars Miles Ocampo, Bayani Agbayani, Luis Manzano, Alex Gonzaga, Rio Locsin and Toni Gonzaga. Director Edgar Mortiz does double duty as he is also in the cast of the sitcom.

“Nangangahulugan lang,” said a kibitzer, “na kapag maganda at nakakaaliw ang show, it’s here to stay, no matter what.

“Ilan taon ba ang itinagal ng ‘John and Marsha’ which starred the late stars Dolphy and Nida Blanca? And, of course, ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.’”

Speaking of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” we cannot help but symphatize with Baron Geisler, whose character, Bungo, was finally killed by Cardo (Coco Martin).

When I last had a talk with Baron, he told me he would feel greatly affected should his character finally make an exit.

“Hindi lang maganda ang role ko,” he said, “I am also enjoying it immensely. Iba rin kapag may kinikita ka regularly at ayos ang talent fee na tinatanggap mo,” he added.
While he has businesses in Cebu, acting is a passion for him.

“’Yung tipong may kulang sa pamilya mo, kung wala ito (referring to acting),” he said.

Before the year ends, Baron will be a father again, his first with his wife. He already has two sons with two former partners.
