THE coming year, 2020, will see three celebrity couples exchange I do’s.
The first couple is Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Labahti, who will tie the knot in March.
“Sarah will wear a gown made by a Paris couturier,” said a kibitzer.
Joyce Pring’s gown, when she marries Juancho Trivino, is from a fashion house in New York.
The two were engaged last August in Boracay, but they chose to announce it just recently.
Joyce regrets that her dad, valiant police officer Joe Pring, would not be around to accompany her to the altar when she weds Juancho. She was three when her father was gunned down while on his way to work.
JC de Vera and businesswoman Rikkah Alyssa Cruz, the mother of his daughter, Lana, are finally making their relationship legal.
“Basta this year,” JC said, when asked about his impending nuptials, “We’ll announce the details properly.”
JC has a movie currently showing in theaters nationwide, “Love to Love,” with Roxanne Barcelo, Jay Manalo and RK Bagatsing. He is also featured in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2019 entry, Viva Films’ “Miracle in Cell No. 7,” which is directed by Nuel Naval and starring Aga Muhlach.
On the small screen, he is seen in “Banana Sundae” with Angelica Panganiban, Pooh and John Prats on ABS-CBN every Sunday.
Louise delos Reyes reveals she is happily living with her boyfriend.
They do talk about marriage, she said, but it’s not something they are planning.
Aside from having a quiet personal life, Louise, one of the busiest actresses of Viva Films, feels fortunate to be getting a lot of good breaks from Viva.
“At awa ng Diyos, mga maituturing na choice roles ang ginagampanan ko.
“Tulad nitong character kong si Dess in ‘My Bakit List’,” she says. “Just reading the script, I am already amused. Kasi nga, very relatable ang kuwento. Eighty percent of woman my age (she’s 27) may have experienced it – ‘yung bang tipong na-in love tapos iniwanan. At gustong balikan muli – on the condition that she will live with him in another place. Eh, breadwinner siya ng kanyang pamilya,” she further says.
Directed by Bona Fajardo, “My Bakit List” also stars Ivan Padilla and Prince Stefan.
It’s common knowledge that Tirso Cruz III just returned from abroad for a series of concerts with fellow icons – Christopher de Leon and Edgar Mortiz – as they are all past their 60s.
“Na awa ng Diyos ay all successful,” Pip says. “For that reason, the three of us plan to hold concerts pa not just in the US but Europe as well.
“It seems, may mga followers pa kami at ‘di lang namin sila gustong ma-meet, gusto rin naming silang aliwin. At ang ganda ng feeling na makasalamuha mo silang muli.”
Lyn Ynchausti, Pip’s wife of 40 years, said she and Pip decided to go to a mall to buy things for pasalubong for their kids.
“Sandaling nagpaalam sa akin si Pip,” Lyn recalled. “Call of nature daw.
“While waiting for him, a little boy with his doggie passed by. Gandang ganda ako sa aso. And I told the boy. Then dumating na si Pip. So, sabi ko sa bata, aalis na kami. But I decided na ipakilala si Pip sa bata.
“Wow, nanlaki ang mata ng bata,” she further related. “Then, he shouted: ‘You are the actor I see in “Starla.” Please wait. I will call my mom and sister,’ the kid said.”
“Starla” is a top-rated fantasy series on ABS-CBN that also stars Judy Ann Santos, Raymart Santiago, Joel Torre and child stars Jana Abellana and Enzo Pelojero. Charo Santos-Concio is featured in a special role.
Don’t look now, but Angelica Panganiban and Bea Alonzo revealed they have actually become inseparable after working on their currently showing movie, “Unbreakable.”
The film, directed by Mae Cruz Alviar, is the duo’s first film together, although they already starred in a series under Direk Mae.
Angelica and Bea happen to be on the same boat. The two are in their thirties, single – and happy to be so.
