Ai Ai, Dina entering politics?

LOTLOT de Leon met up with members of the entertainment media for the signing of her talent management contract with Leo Dominguez.

The actress plans to be more active, now that she is part of the team that also handles the careers of Lovi Poe and Paulo Avelino, among others.

Leo Dominguez is a member of Professional Association of Managers, Inc. (PAMI), which is headed by June Rufino.

Lotlot wed Lebanese businessman Fadi El Soury last year.

She and first husband Ramon Christopher have three children, the eldest of whom, Janine Gutierrez, is now an actress herself. Janine finished a course in European Studies at the Ateneo de Manila University, before following in her parents’ footsteps.

Viva artist Xian Lim accepted the offer of Dreamscape Television Entertainment to play the leading man to his sweetheart, Kim Chiu, and Yam Concepcion in “Love Thy Woman.”

“Love Thy Woman” features a star-studded cast. Aside from Xian, Kim, and Yam, it also stars Christopher de Leon, Eula Valdez, Sunshine Cruz, Zsa Zsa Padilla and Ruffa Gutierrez.

Then, three top directors are at its helm: Jeffrey Jeturian, Jerry Sineneng and Andoy Ranay.

“Sobrang interesting din ang kuwento,” Xian said. “I’m supposed to be involved with both Kim (as Jia) and Yam (Dana). They are the daughters of Tito Boyet sa dalawang babae (played by Eula and Sunshine).

“Tito Boyet plays a billionaire of Chinese descent, who has two wives,” he added.
Xian’s dad is Chinese and mom is Filipino. His parents are separated.

With his home studio, Viva, Xian finished the movie, “Untrue,” with Cristine Reyes.

“Untrue” is directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo.

The actor has branched out to directing. Last year, he filmed “Tabon,” which was an entry in the 2019 Cinemalaya Film Festival.

Playing a villain is difficult but fun, said Tirso Cruz III, who again plays a kontrabida in the long-running series, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” topbilled by Coco Martin.

Tirso plays a corrupt judge married to Ara Mina.

“He is simply amazing,” said Ara of her co-actor. “Mabait at napaka-professional, bukod pa sa magaling siyang aktor. ‘Di mo aakalain na at one time, he was a matinee idol kasi sukdulan ang pagiging kontrabida niya rito.”

Aside from showbiz, Ara is now busy as a businesswoman.

The actress bakes. She has several confections in her Hazel Berry Café. “I took up baking before I started the business,” she said. “I didn’t know there is money in it.

“I learned that the secret is to really sell good stuff,” she added. “We usually sell cakes and pastries. And I make sure na affordable ang prices.”

Ara also has a makeup line under Ever Bilena. She balances her work as an actress and entrepreneur with her motherly duties. She has a daughter, Amanda, with a Bulacan politician.

Does she plan to fall in love and settle down?

“Sa Diyos ko na ipinauubaya,” she replied. “Every time I pray, I tell the Lord to decide for me. So far, pinakikinggan naman lahat ng dasal ko.”

Just wondering if it’s true “D Ninang” actress Ai Ai de las Alas is finally thinking of joining politics.

A few years back, Ai Ai was being enticed to run for mayor of Calatagan in Batangas. Calatagan, known for its fine beaches, is not affected by the phreatic eruptions of Taal Volcano.

Dina Bonnevie, on the other hand, said she is not going to try her hand at politics.
Married to Ilocos Sur Representative Deogracias Savillano, the actress insisted that one politician is enough in their family.

Reportedly Dina was being encouraged to run by Lipa Representative Vilma Santos-Recto, who is married to Senator Ralph Recto.
