ABS-CBN released a statement on Tuesday, Jan. 26, denouncing the altering of photos of two of its female talents.
ABS-CBN said it “is a form of gender-based online sexual harassment under RA 11313 or The Safe Spaces Act.”
The company appealed to netizens to stem the spread of the fake images and added that it will “pursue legal action against the perpetrators and anyone who posts, distributes, or duplicates” the photos of its Star Magic contract artists Sue Ramirez and Maris Racal.
Star Magic is the talent management arm of ABS-CBN.
“Everyone should be treated with dignity and respect, even on social media,” the statement ended.
