The Pampanga II Electric Cooperative (PELCO II) has awarded a 15 megawatts (MW) 15-year contract power supply agreement with the consortium of Vivant Energy Corp. and Gigawatt Power Inc. after a competitive selection process.
The consortium will build a 3×5.76-MW diesel-fueled power plant under a build-operate-own program in Porac town to address peaking power supply requirements in PELCO II’s franchise area.
“We welcome this opportunity to be a partner in the development of the seven local government units being served by PELCO II. Wherever we go, we’ve always been committed to the economic and social development of the communities we serve, and we will make the same commitment here,” said Emil Andre Garcia, Vivant Energy executive vice president and chief operating officer. – J.
