Sky boosts fiber speed

With the stiff competition on home broadband, ABS-CBN Corp. unit Sky Cable Corp. has upgraded its fiber internet speeds making its offerings more affordable to further grow its market.

Alan Supnet, Sky head for consumer broadband products, said at the virtual press launch the new speed upgrade is auto boosted and it is not a promo.

For P999 monthly fee, Sky subscribers now get up to 20 megabits per second (Mbps), a bump up from speeds of 5Mbps or 10Mbps in previous years.

To date, this is considered the most affordable postpaid plan in the country.

The company’s highest speed plan, which was previously only 150Mbps has now leveled up to 200Mbps for the same price of P3,499 per month.

Sky is also offering value-conscious consumers an option that comes in between the basic and highest plan – plan 40Mbps at P1,499 per month. It also has plan 80Mbps at P1,999 per month.
