Cebu Pacific (CEB) yesterday resumed offering its “piso fare” seat sale for all domestic and international flights amid the pandemic.
The trademark piso sale is available from December 10 to 12, 2020, to all domestic and international flights for as low as P1 one-way base fare, for travel from August 1 to November 30, 2021.
In a virtual press briefing, Candice Iyog, CEB vice-president for marketing and customer experience, said the airline is offering one million domestic seats on sale during the “ber” months or fourth quarter this year.
The promo offering is expected to spur domestic travel as the air transport sector has been severely affected by the pandemic.
Iyog said the air transport sector has a significant contribution to the Philippine economy as it creates 1.2 million jobs and accounts for 3.4 percent of gross domestic product.
To rebuild passengers’ trust and confidence to travel, CEB introduced three approaches: sanitation, tracing and testing.
The airline said it strictly implements its multi-layered approach to safety, in accordance with global aviation standards, to ensure guests travel with peace of mind.
This includes extensive daily disinfection of the aircraft, frequent cleaning of passenger surfaces at the airport and inflight, coupled with the presence of hospital-grade High Efficiency Particulate Air filters onboard that are proven to eliminate 99.99 percent of viruses.
CEB also required passengers to register in the “Traze,” a unified contract tracing app for the aviation industry and all other transport sectors as directed by the Department of Transportation.
As local destinations currently require negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test results prior to entry, CEB said it made sure the journey remains affordable and hassle-free so passengers on Cebu Pacific and Cebgo can choose and book appointments with any of its three partner laboratories for P3,300.
