The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) said it has approved this month P13.19 billion investments which upon commercial operations will generate 2,447 employment in host areas of the ecozones.
From the total 33 approved projects, 29 will be located in Luzon and the four will be located in Visayas and in Mindanao.
Twenty four are business enterprises, 11 of which are for export manufacturing; 11 are in information technology; four are facilities, and one is in logistics and utilities. Nine projects are classified as ecozone developer or operator projects.
“The approval of new projects and investments is the agency’s positive action to continuously support the economy to maintain the country’s competitiveness for investments despite the impact of COVID-19 (new coronavirus disease 2019),” said PEZA director-general Charito Plaza.
