NPC switches on new diesel power plant in Palawan

The National Power Corp. (NPC) has switched on its new diesel-fired power facility capable of providing 8-hour electricity to some 300 households in Mangsee Island in Palawan.

NPC said the project, which  is under the Small Power Utilities Group (SPUG), has a 200 kilowatts capacity.

Palawan aims to connect 500 additional households by the end of August.

“The power house was also built by the provincial government to expedite the energization in the island. The Mangsee diesel power plant will be maintained by two local operator and technician who will be reporting daily to the NPC–SPUG Palawan operations,” said Fred Barrios, officer-in-charge of NPC’s Palawan operations division.

NPC  is set to energize two more new areas in Palawan in the next months, including the Calandagan Island in Araceli and Bisucay Island in Cuyo.
