NIA blacklists 3 contractors


    The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) has blacklisted three project contractors forfeiting aggregate performance securities amounting to P2.06 billion

    NIA said the three were blacklisted for failure to fully and faithfully comply with contractual obligations without valid cause or non-compliance to any written lawful instruction of the procuring entity or its representatives.

    The three were the project contractors of Malinao Dam improvement project in Pilar, Bohol with a contract amounting to P730.945 million that carried a performance security of P219,283,521.46; the P5.863 billion Balog-Balog storage dam and its appurtenant structures under the Balog-Balog multipurpose project phase 2 in San Jose, Tarlac with a forfeited performance security of P1,759,116,280.55 and; the P273.508 million Bonot-Bonot earthfill dam and its appurtenant structures in Buenavista, Bohol with a forfeited performance security of P82,052,675.21.

    All three are suspended or disqualified from participating in all government procurement for a period of one year, starting Jan. 28, 2021 until Jan. 27, 2022.
