Sardine manufacturer Mega Global Corp. expects to sustain its double-digit growth this year and continues to diversify and pursue redundancy amid the pandemic.
Mega Global said the series of lockdowns to control the pandemic that worsened logistical challenges drove the company to double to P1 billion its first manufacturing facility in Luzon.
This would enable the company serve a bigger chunk of the market and increase its exports.
Equipped with research and development, the facility will also strengthen its diversification to and innovation of more products.
Mega Global said the facility will increase the company’s sardine capacity by 50 percent from its two plants in Zamboanga which produce 300 metric tons a year.
The multi-line food semi-automated manufacturing facility in Sto. Tomas, Batangas will also have a world-class, zero-waste fish meal facility, cold storage, and warehouse.
The plant will be completed by 2022.
