    Handyman opens 177th store

    Handyman Do-it Best recently opened its 177th  store at LIMA Exchange, inside the LIMA Estate in Lipa-Malvar, Batangas.

    Handyman offers a wide range of hardware and home improvement products at affordable prices. The LIMA Exchange branch also extends additional services, such as “Call and Collect” for the convenience of shoppers amid the ongoing pandemic. The new Handyman branch complements other shops at LIMA Exchange that offer daily necessities.

    Phoenix Petroleum bags 4 trophies at Anvil

    Phoenix Petroleum won a gold Anvil and three silver Anvils  at the  56th Anvil Awards for its exemplary programs that delivered significant and positive impact to the community.

    Winning a Gold Anvil for the ‘Public Relations Program Directed at Specific Stakeholders-Suppliers’ category, #WeSupportSMEs is a COVID-19 program created last year by FamilyMart, the convenience store brand of Phoenix. It also won a Silver Anvil under the ‘Specialized Public Relations Program-COVID related PR Programs with Tools’ category, as an innovative program created in response to the pandemic.

    Kwentong Phoenix, a project created with content development and marketing agency PageOne, won a Silver Anvil for ‘Digital Public Relations Program-Good Governance/Social Responsibility/Responsible Citizenship’.

    Maynilad sustainability report cited

    West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. recently won a Gold Anvil Award for its “Optimizing Water Supply for Reliable Service” Maynilad 2019 Sustainability Report.

    The award-winning report—which adheres to GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) standards—details Maynilad’s financial, operational, social, and environmental performance for 2019.

    Maynilad pursues sustainability reporting excellence so it can strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, as well as boost investor and consumer confidence in the company.

    The Maynilad 2019 Sustainability Report won under the Public Relations Tools Category (Publications) of the 56th Anvil Awards. Organized by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines, the Anvil Awards is the symbol of excellence in public relations in the country.

    Shopee helps MSMEs adapt to e-commerce roadmap

    Shopee and its mobile wallet ShopeePay are doing their share in encouraging Filipinos to slowly embrace digital transactions.

    Shopee makes it simpler and easier for brands and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to adjust to the new electronic commerce roadmap with its current ecosystem.

    With its marketing and logistics tools, mobile features for both sellers and consumers, and digitalization efforts, Shopee gives all its users a smooth online shopping and selling experience.

    Shopee also continues to form partnerships with other organizations to offer initiatives to encourage brands and MSMEs to go digital.     SNAP-Magat receives award from DepEd

    SN Aboitiz Power-Magat Inc.’s (SNAP-Magat) assistance to public schools has received recognition from the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of the province of Isabela.

    The Gawad Ka-Brigada Award recognized SNAP’s consistent support to Brigada Eskwela over the years. It likewise underscored the company’s commitment to the health and safety of the learners, teachers, and school personnel by providing medical aid at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.

    In August 2020, SNAP-Magat distributed school supplies and medical aid packages consisting of paper and ink supplies as well as alcohol, bleach, and face masks to six host schools. This was in support of the host schools’ modular distance learning program to keep basic education accessible even with the COVID-19 crisis.

    Buensalido PR reaps 4 silver Anvils

    Public relations and communications agency Buensalido garnered four silver Anvils with partners AKAP Guro CONNECTeD of Unilab Inc., Avon Philippines and Makati Medical Center at the recently concluded PRSP Anvil Awards 2020.

    Union Bank launches digital transformation institute

     Union Bank of the Philippines recently launched the first ever Asian Institute of Digital Transformation (AIDT) through a virtual signing of the memorandum of agreement last Feb. 19, 2021 with partner Global Learning Solutions Singapore.

    AIDT  was founded by UnionBank to specifically address the urgent need of many senior leaders and corporate board members to implement their own digital transformation initiatives but do not have the internal capacities and core competencies to make it happen.

    Part of AIDT’s flagship programs is an intensive 8-week Live Virtual Executive MasterClass on Digital Transformation offered to companies and organizations, to be conducted by global faculty mentors from around the world, including UnionBank senior FinTech experts. The institute offers short courses and masterclass programs that have three unique pillars: especially curated curriculum content, practice-oriented faculty mentors and immersive virtual learning delivery platform.

    The first Executive MasterClass on Digital Transformation will be conducted in May to June of 2021.

    New industry cloud offer launchpad for innovation

    Microsoft accelerated its efforts to support and co-innovate with customers and partners — both now and long term — with industry-specific cloud offerings that can provide a launchpad for further innovations.

    Microsoft announced three new industry-specific cloud offerings: Microsoft Cloud for Financial Services, Microsoft Cloud for Manufacturing, and Microsoft Cloud for Nonprofit. It also announced the first update to Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare, and the public preview timing for Microsoft Cloud for Retail, introduced in January at NRF.

    Microsoft industry clouds bring together common data models, crosscloud connectors, workflows, APIs, and industry-specific components and standards, with the breadth of  cloud services, including Microsoft 365 and Teams, Azure, Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics 365, and security solutions.

     Microsoft industry clouds also provide new opportunities to strengthen and extend for the last mile of industry execution.
