Citi PH provides P200k free COVID-19 life insurance to qualified customers
Citi Philippines provides free BPLAC COVID-19 life insurance coverage amounting to P200,000 to almost 70 thousand customers, without any need for them to enroll or register.
Citibank and BPI-Philam Assurance Corporation (BPLAC) has given free COVID-19 life insurance coverage to all checking and savings bank account holders, including their joint account holders, as well as to Citibank credit cardholders with active BPLAC insurance policies.
This new benefit is given for free and qualified customers have automatically received via email the COVID-19 Life Insurance Coverage policy details which is effective for a period of 90 days from October 16, 2020 until January 13, 2021.
“We understand that many Filipinos are facing uncertainty in these challenging times. We are committed to support our customers at every step of the way, by providing them life, health, and financial protection when they most need it,” said Citi Philippines Consumer Bank Head Manoj Varma.
BPLAC Chief Executive Officer Surendra Menon said, “In this most trying of times, we need to provide our customers with the care and protection they and their families must have. We remain committed to being there for them no matter what, and, right now, that commitment has never been more important.”
Under this policy, BPLAC will cover confirmed COVID-19 deaths with a Php200,000 death benefit. For current BPLAC policy owners, this is an additional Php200,000 on top of their existing plan’s benefits.
LG announces organizational changes
LG Electronics (LG) has announced organizational commitments designed to transform the global consumer electronics and appliance brand into a company that is able to better weather the coming year by turning challenges into opportunities.
Initiatives such as promoting customer value innovation through LG’s digital transformation strategy, creating a cross-function Quality Management Center, establishing a North America Innovation Center, bolstering each company’s R&D function and giving the nascent Robot Business Division a new home in the Business Solutions Company, are some of the changes in store for the new year and beyond.
Dan Song, president and CEO of the Home Appliance & Air Solutions Company, who took on the role at the end of 2016, leaves the company stronger than it has ever been.
Under his leadership, the 37-year veteran of LG Electronics, steered LG’s H&A Company to the highest sales figures in its history which is a key reason for LG’s strong performance this year despite the cloud of the pandemic.
Taking over the reins of LG’s largest company will be Lyu Jae-cheol, a 32-year veteran of LG and head of its Living Appliance Business since 2016.
In addition to focusing on customer value, quality control, innovation, R&D and robots, LG will be creating more opportunities to reinforce its competitiveness, encourage disruptive thinking and better prepare for future uncertainties.
All appointments are effective Dec. 1 with promotions taking effect Jan. 1, 2021.
Allianz PNB Life, San Juan City launch first solar-powered bike stop in PH
Allianz PNB Life, through its Ride Safe Movement, has partnered with the local government of San Juan City for the country’s first solar-powered bike pit stop .
The company said the bike pit stop was designed after race car pit stops at Formula 1 races and is equipped with bike parking, bikers’ resting area as well as a small footprint bike repair station complete with hanger arms, repair tools, and air pump.
“…Through this pit stop and other safety infrastructure we have put in place in partnership with the city, we hope that more people will be encouraged to use bikes,” said Alexander Grenz, Allianz PNB Life president and chief executive officer.
The company chose San Juan as the city has designated bike lanes with corresponding safety infrastructure along its major thoroughfares and deployed bike patrollers. It was recognized as one of the most bike-friendly cities in Metro Manila by the Mobility Awards.
Last month, Allianz PNB Life also partnered with the local government of San Juan City to put up signage and safety bollards in the city’s biking lanes.
PLDT, Smart reaffirm support for MSMEs
PLDT and its wireless arm Smart Communications Inc. continue to recognize the hard work of local entrepreneurs in helping keep the economy afloat amid the global COVID-19 crisis.
At the invitation of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the UN Global Compact Network Philippines (GCNP), PLDT and Smart presented actionable solutions and policy recommendations at the GCNP – UNIDO Sustainability Summit 2020: Uniting Business to Support MSME Recovery and Resilience. The virtual event highlighted the resilience of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) who have been the most impacted sector in the Philippines in this time of pandemic.
The 2020 Sustainability Summit followed PLDT and Smart’s participation in the organization’s exclusive Business Expert Group Meetings. PLDT-Smart chief sustainability officer Chaye Cabal-Revilla shared the Group’s inputs for understanding the challenges in, and possible solutions to, the recovery and resilience-building of MSMEs amid the COVID-19 crisis.
All Business Expert Group ambitions are anchored on the pillars of People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnerships, and aligned with the Philippine Socio-Economic and Peace Building Framework of the United Nations and the Philippine government.
Among the topics discussed by Cabal-Revilla was the GCNP’s goal to encourage and stimulate investments that will enable industries to contribute to the sustainable development agenda.
“Future advocacy efforts and multi-stakeholder discourses can look at practices such as the unified multi-purpose lending program, a ladderized approach to MSME lending, sector-focused supply chain finance, and the BSP-initiated Credit Surety Fund Program, sustainability reporting, among others,” she explained.
The PLDT Group’s support for MSMEs amid the pandemic includes the release of stimulus packages to help the sector get their businesses back on track. Audi becoming a ‘Dementia Partner’
Caring for loved ones with dementia is a matter of the heart for many people. At the same time, it is without doubt an enormous strain for them – especially for those who are also employed. Individual Audi employees can also become a Dementia Partner. This involves training to learn learn about the disease and how to deal with people living with dementia. Filipino PR executive wins People of the Year 2020 in Beijing
