    Park, shop and get sanitized at SM Malls

    With health and sanitation becoming a top priority during the pandemic, SM Supermalls is helping customers in the south stay safe and healthy with Park, Shop, and Get Sanitized at SM City Bicutan, SM City BF Paranaque, SM City Sucat and SM Hypermarket Sucat-Lopez.

    With this, customers can get a free car disinfection service which comes complete with UV sterilization and antibacterial fogging by simply presenting P10,000.00 worth of single or accumulated receipts from the participating malls until September 30, 2020.

    SM’s health and sanitation initiative is made possible by trusted partners in the sanitation industry, Ecosteam Sanitation and Clean MNL, which have been providing professional cleaning and disinfection services for the residential and commercial communities of its malls.

    China Bank Mobile App wins award

    China Bank’s Mobile App won the Mobile Banking & Payment Initiative of the Year – Philippines at the virtually held ABF Retail Banking Awards 2020 of the Asian Banking & Finance Magazine, a leading publication for banking and finance executives in Asia.

    In its citation, ABF noted: “For their exceptional, one-of-a-kind mobile fund transfer service that takes advantage of both the Philippine strong mobile phone user demographic whilst empowering the unbanked segment, China Bank is deservedly taking home the award for Mobile Banking & Payment Initiative – Philippines.”

    ABF distinguished China Bank Mobile App’s Pay to Mobile or JUMP (Just Use your Mobile Phone) feature, which enables clients to pay or transfer funds to anyone with a mobile phone number.

    The recipient, who may not have a China Bank account, can withdraw the money through any of the Bank’s ATMs by performing a cardless withdrawal, or transfer the fund to his own bank account through JUMP’s ‘Deposit to An Account’ feature.

    The groundbreaking features of the Mobile App, launched in February 2018, include a first and only Branch/ATM locator that uses augmented reality and indicates whether an ATM is available or unavailable real-time; real-time Autosweep RFID Reloading; NOW (no card on withdrawal) or emergency cash which allows clients to withdraw from a China Bank ATM using only their mobile app; e-Gift for transferring money to others, along with a mobile e-card and note,for special occasions; andPay-to-Cash for sending money to anyone, even to someone without a bank account—beneficiaries can claim the funds from any authorized remittance partner or any China Bank or China Bank Savings Branch, or it may be delivered to their doorstep via courier.

    Visa, Shopee urge Filipinos to support local merchants

    Visa, the world’s leader in digital payments, has launched Where You Shop Matters to encourage consumers to support local businesses while helping SMEs to go digital following the onset of COVID-19.

    As part of the Where You Shop Matters initiative, Visa has partnered with Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, to help support thousands of local small businesses who are selling on Shopee. Visa and Shopee will be creating campaigns to enable Visa cardholders to enjoy discounts when they shop at these local merchants.

    “We introduced Where You Shop Matters to support our small businesses in the Philippines… (T)he partnership with Shopee will help us support thousands of local businesses in the Philippines. We are confident that Filipinos will help support the local economy, especially since our study showed that 95 per cent of Filipino consumers will purchase from local retailers to support small business recovery,” said Visa Country Manager for the Philippines & Guam, Dan Wolbert.

    “We are happy to partner with Visa to launch the Where You Shop Matters campaign to help small business owners go digital. Shopee commits to offer our sellers and MSMEs a more secure, seamless, and rewarding way to do business online, and we will continue to explore new ways to help them succeed online” says Martin Yu, Associate Director at Shopee Philippines.

    To encourage SMEs to go digital, Visa will be providing them with a Visa eCommerce Starter Kit to help them start, manage, and grow their online storefronts.

    Visa is partnering with BigCommerce to provide onboarding support and special discount rates for SMEs to sign up and start selling online.
