     FamilyMart strengthens support for SMEs

FamilyMart has opened its doors and shelves for entrepreneurs to bring in and feature their products under the #WeSupportSME campaign. The program  seeks to bridge consumers back to these small and medium enterprises by connecting them through FamilyMart’s extensive and established retail network, while at the same time widening the store’s offerings.

“We want to help the local economy by promoting SMEs while also being of service to our customers. We consider suppliers and vendors as part of our ‘family’ as well—true to the spirit of our tagline #WeGotchuFam,” said Bernie Suiza, general manager of FamilyMart Philippines.

One of FamilyMart’s bestselling products that suffered a setback during the initial enhanced community quarantine was their cookies, whose original supplier had to halt production. FamilyMart learned of insistent demand from customers for the baked treats, so management devised ways to bring the items back in the stores.

FamilyMart has partnered with Aperitif, a local restaurant known for their iconic Cheese and Cold Cuts Graze Boxes, as one of their pioneer SMEs under the campaign to feature their popular Ooey Gooey Cookie selections in-store.

At present, more than 30 FamilyMart stores are selling Aperitif’s sought-after cookies such as Classic Chocolate Chip, Reese’s Dark Chocolate and White Chocolate.

This month, FamilyMart is giving the #WeGotchuFam treatment to another SME by adding Baked by Machew as its latest partner for the  #WeSupportSME campaign. With this, the convenience store chain is now offering to more foodies the Chef Matthew Lim’s famous Premium Kani Sushi Bake.

Grundfos launches prefab pumping stations for
    flood and wastewater management

Grundfos Philippines, a global leader in advanced pump solutions and water technologies has launched its prefabricated pumping stations (PPS) to help meet the country’s growing flood and wastewater management needs.

The PPS is a sustainable turnkey solution that reduces both installation time, commissioning costs and the space requirement substantially.

The PPS is designed to be energy efficient and operate reliably in the long run, being made of hard-wearing plastic for greater durability paired with an advanced control system for optimised operations, and in turn greater energy savings.

The PPS also only requires a short construction timeframe. Compared to traditional pumping stations, PPS is produced in the Grundfos factory and sent to the site as a complete package, making installation easier and usually completed within 24 hours. This reduces installation time by as much as 80 percent, ensuring minimal disruption to people and infrastructure.

In addition to flood control, another key application for PPS is in wastewater management. Playing a key role in the wastewater management process, pumping stations are designed to collect and transport wastewater, and PPS’ high durability ensures minimal disruption to any water system.

The PPS is an ideal solution for wastewater management at tourist destinations and hotels. Grundfos has recently installed its first PPS solution at Lio, a tourism estate whose water and wastewater facilities are owned and operated by Manila Water’s Business Unit, Estate Water , which is located in El Nido, Palawan.
