Southeast Asia Renewable Power Corp. recently broke ground for the P120-million 522KW Mariveles hydropower plant in Bataan.

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) said the hydropower plant aims to effectively utilize the available water from the Freeport Area of Bataan’s (FAB) existing reservoir by producing an alternative, clean energy generation without interfering with the existing FAB’s water treatment plant and water supply operation.

The facility is expected to be operational next year.

The project will produce an estimated annual energy of 3.277 million kWh that can be allocated to FAB enterprises.
