The Manila Electric Co.’s (Meralco) P1-billion energization program in areas outside Metro Manila is now 30 percent complete.
Ronnie Aperocho, Meralco senior vice president and head of networks, said the program has energized 168 sites out of the target 565 sites which will serve 30,740 households in the region.
Of the 137 sites in Bulacan, 47 have been completed while 87 are under construction and three are for right-of-way (ROW) delivery.
Forty-two of 126 sites in Cavite are fully energized with 20 still in construction, 48 for ROW and 16 in design process.
Thirty sites were energized out of 101 in Laguna with 16 ongoing construction, 43 for ROW acquisition and 12 in design stage.
Sixteen out of 92 total sites in Quezon were energized; 33 are being developed while 16 and 27 are securing ROW and being designed, respectively.
Thirty-three sites of 109 are now being served by Meralco in Rizal with 10 still ongoing construction, two for ROW and 64 being designed.
The company bundled the remaining unconnected sites in two groups with the first one eyed to be completed not later than December this year and the other one to be fully served not later than June 2021.
