Despite the travel restrictions due to the pandemic, Clark International Airport’s new passenger terminal building is targeted to be operational by the middle of June, according to the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
“Clark International Airport is already complete with 8 million additional capacity. You can see the dramatic change in the terminal… Clark is targeted to be operational by mid-June this year,” said Arthur Tugade, transportation secretary.
Last January, Megawide-GMR Construction Joint Venture Inc. turned over the certificate for the completion of the Clark airport to officially hand over the operation and maintenance to Luzon International Premier Airport Development Corp., the operator of Clark International Airport.
Clark’s new passenger terminal was completed in October 2020. It is the first phase of the airport’s expansion, increasing passenger capacity from the current four million to 12.2 million per year.
The 110,000 square meter Clark International Airport new passenger terminal building is a joint project of the DOTr and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority. It is the first hybrid public-private partnership project under the Build, Build, Build program of the Duterte administration.
