    AC Health, Qualimed host ceremonial vaccination

    Ayala Healthcare Holdings Inc. (AC Health) launched a vaccination drive for its doctors and healthcare workers at QualiMed Hospital Sta. Rosa, the first hospital outside of Metro Manila to receive doses of the AstraZeneca vaccines.

    A total of 600 AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines were provided by the Inter-Agency Task Force and the Department of Health, in collaboration with the local government of Laguna. All 600 doses have been allocated to volunteer recipients.

    Through COVIDShield, AC Health has combined the extensive resources of QualiMed, Healthway, and HealthNow to offer an end-to-end COVID-19 vaccination program, which complements public sector efforts to vaccinate majority of Filipinos by the end of the year.

    Vaccination of healthcare teams and other front liners under the Ayala Group and the AC Health network will continue in the following months, pending the delivery of procured vaccines from manufacturers and the allocation of vaccines by the national government.

    TNT teams up with TV5 to promote Pinoy pride

    Mobile services brand TNT has teamed up with TV5 in promoting Pinoy pride with Popinoy, a nationwide reality talent show in search for the country’s biggest Pop Boyband.

    Popinoy is the first nationwide reality talent show that will follow the journey of aspiring Filipino boy band members as they vie for a spot to be the next Pinoy Pop Idols.

    PLDT, Meralco, PLDT-Smart Foundation
    support indigent communities through EAMC

    To help the community of medical frontliners and patients of the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC), PLDT and Meralco, through PSF and One Meralco Foundation, recently turned over a molecular laboratory. This is on top of the group’s initial P30-million hospital equipment donation to the EAMC.

    According to EAMC Center for Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Disease, the establishment of a molecular laboratory for detection of the SARS-CoV-2 is essential during the clinical operations, especially for EAMC as it is a COVID-19 designated referral hospital.

    EAMC no longer needs to rely on other institutions to process their specimens.

    The molecular laboratory also benefits the hospital’s front line healthcare workers as they are now being tested on a regular basis with results received in less than 24 hours.

    HARI expands dealership

    PBEd, Australian DFAT tie up

    Philippine Business for Education (PBEd) together with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) on recently entered into agreements with three industry groups to establish sectoral councils in support of workforce development in the Philippines.

    In an online ceremony, PBEd and DFAT launched the Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) with the Analytics Association of the Philippines; the Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Inc.; and with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Human Resources Development Foundation.

    A Future that Works is a two-year initiative funded by DFAT and implemented by PBEd. This initiative is part of PBEd’s broader workforce development agenda, with the goal of making education and training more responsive to the needs of the Philippine economy. The project also forms part of Australia’s support to the Philippines’s COVID-19 economic response.

    The AFW initiative focuses attention and investment on reducing the mismatch of jobs and skills, to ensure the competitiveness of industry through the establishment of skills councils.
