ABS-CBN Corp. is expanding the reach of its music and entertainment program in partnership with direct-to-home (DTH) satellite TV service provider GSAT.
ABS-CBN said more viewers nationwide will be able to get first dibs on music and catch exclusive musical events starting February 10 via GSAT.
The addition of MYX to GSAT’s lineup comes after Kapamilya Channel, Knowledge Channel, Jeepney TV, CineMo and Metro Channel became available on the DTH satellite TV service, as ABS-CBN continues to find ways to reach more Filipinos around the world with its news, public service and entertainment.
This February, GSAT subscribers can watch OPM band Ben&Ben as MYX Headliner and singer-songwriter Ace Banzuelo on MYX Spotlight.
New viewers can also catch the “Myxellaneous” program on Tuesdays which will feature Paul Klein and Saweetie on February 16 and Dudut and Matthaios on February 23, the company said.
Earlier, ABS-CBN forged a partnership with rival TV5 Network as well as pay television firm Cignal TV Inc. to expand the reach of its entertainment and movies content.
Starting last month, ABS-CBN’s musical variety show “ASAP Natin ‘To” is seen on TV5 and the “FPJ: Da King” movies every Sunday.
ABS-CBN’s shows are also being aired at A2Z channel 11 following its blocktime agreement with Zoe Broadcasting Network.
The blocktime agreement came three months after the Congress rejected ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal that resulted in the retrenchment of nearly 5,000 employees. – Myla Iglesias
