Three listed firms in the Philippine Stock Exchange have been included in the list of 380 companies that strictly observe gender-related practices and policies in their operations, according to the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI).
SM Investments Corp., which has been in the list for the second year, is joined by DMCI Holdings Inc. and its unit Semirara Mining and Power Corp.
Bloomberg’s GEI covers 11 sectors spanning 44 countries and regions, including firms headquartered in Indonesia and Bermuda for the first time. Companies range from a variety of industries, including automotive, banking, consumer services, engineering and construction and retail.
The current list was expanded from a previous 325 companies headquartered across 42 countries and regions.
The GEI brings transparency to gender-related practices and policies at publicly listed companies, increasing the breadth of environmental, social, governance (ESG) data available to investors.
