3 coops to roll out modern PUVs

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has awarded to three cooperatives the provisional authority to operate that would allow them roll out modern public utility vehicles (PUVs) amid the pandemic.

These cooperates include Vizcaya Cordon Solano Transport Cooperative (VISCON), Cordova Lapu-Lapu Metro Cebu Transport Cooperative (CLMC) and 997 Sandigan TSC.

LTFRB Region II awarded VISCON the PA for the class 3 Modern Public Utility Jeepneys (MPUJs) that will ply the Solano-Aritao route in Nueva Vizcaya.

The PUVs are equipped with Euro-4 engines, and accessories such as CCTV, dashcams, speed limiters, Automatic Fare Collection System (AFCS), and Wi-Fi.

LTFRB also launched 20 modern PUJs together with the CLMC to traverse the route from Cordova-Lapu-Lapu City-Mandaue City to Liloan, Cebu.

The 997 Sandigan TSC was awarded PA for the class 3 modern UV Express units that will ply the SM Fairview-Buendia avenue route.
