Singer Zephanie faced a challenging end to October when an accident involving her family occurred. Their SUV was totaled by a 10-wheeler-truck on NLEX. While the hit-and-run incident left her and some family members with bruises and scrapes, the emotional toll was more significant. The 20-year-old revealed that every time she would see a truck, she would flinch and her mind would immediately bring her back to the awful memory.
“Every time we get near a truck or even just a small car, I would get nervous,” she revealed.
The 10-wheeler sped off and left the scene. It was only through CCTV footage that the vehicle was tracked down and now, said the singer, the owner has met with them to settle.
Despite the setback, Zephanie appears to be on the road to recovery. The singer-actress was in high spirits at a recent interview as she revealed the wonderful things that happened to her the past couple of weeks.
November holds special significance for Zephanie, historically marking a month of significant milestones in her career. After her “Idol Philippines” win In 2019, she staged her first major concert at the New Frontier. In 2022, she was chosen as one of the featured singers for the grand launch of Disney+ in the Philippines.
This year, despite the challenges, Zephanie was selected to perform “Aking Hiling,” the Filipino version of “Wish,” the theme song for Disney’s centennial movie project.
Adding to her list of achievements, the 20-year-old received the exciting news that she would be opening the year by performing at the prestigious Asian TV Awards. Zephanie is the sole Filipino singer invited to the regional event.
In addition to her Asian TV Awards performance in Vietnam, Zephanie is eagerly preparing for a new television acting opportunity alongside other artists under the Sparkle talent management. She said she is ready to go full blast in the world of acting, showcasing yet another facet.
Beyond her artistic pursuits, Zephanie shared her heartfelt “Hiling.”
Radiating the grace of a Disney princess, she stated her ultimate desire is “world peace.”
“Honestly po ngayon ang nasa isip ko talaga is world peace kasi andami pong nangyayari sa mundo, mga calamities… Kaya peace ang hiling ko kasi when there’s peace, everyone’s okay.”
For herself, Zephanie wants to make a mark in showbiz and hopefully, reach the international stage.
“I want to have a hit song or an album, and to reach out on the international stage talaga – to show our talent as a Filipino po. So far yun po ang wish ko.”
With her exceptional talent, unwavering determination, and genuine heart, Zephanie is undeniably on her way to making her dream a reality.
