Rising actor Beaver Magtalas is thrilled with the tremendous success of his debut movie, “When Magic Hurts,” which had its red carpet premiere in Cabanatuan last Sunday, May 12.
The young star could not stop smiling as thousands of people flocked to the premiere night at NE Pacific Mall in his hometown, and all three movie theaters were packed.
Mutya Orquia and Maxine Trinidad, the two leading ladies of Beaver, also received loud cheers from screaming fans. Both the Beaver-Maxine duo and the Beaver-Mutya love team have a following.
The three main actors are overwhelmed with the public’s support for their movie.
“I’m really happy that I was given the chance to show it here. Of course, this is my first big movie, so I want to show it to fellow Nueva Ecijano people and my friends and family here.
Hindi na nila kailangan mag-travel to Manila to see it,” said Beaver.
Maxine was overjoyed seeing the number of Beaver’s supporters in Nueva Ecija and the entire cast.
“Their love for Beaver is so intense. What is amazing about Nueva Ecija is that their support is great for Beaver and the entire cast. So, it’s very heartwarming. And that’s it; when they see Beaver, sometimes they call him Earnest because he’s Earnest in real life,” said Maxine.
In the movie, Beaver’s character’s name happens to be Earnest.
At the premiere, Beaver was asked which of his two leading ladies does he like better. The Star Hunt talent laughed before remarking that the question was difficult.
“Maybe, now, work first. The choice now is work,” he said.
But the young star said he was very happy to be working with these two beautiful ladies, and they all enjoyed doing the film, especially shooting in the breathtaking mountain and garden views of Atok, Benguet.
“When Magic Hurts” is about the kind Ernest, who travels to their mountain home and meets the hardworking Olivia, played by Mutya. The chance meeting leads to a deeper connections amidst the beauty of the gardens of Atok, where they find comfort with the help of love and magic.
“When Magic Hurts” is in cinemas beginning May 22, from the direction of Gabby Ramos.
The cast also includes Dennis Padilla, Angelica Jones, Archie Adamos, Cassie Kim, Dennah Bautista, Julian Roxas, Blumark Roces, and Aryanna Barretto, with the special participation of Claudine Barretto.
