Warner Bros. to distribute GMA Pictures’ ‘P77’

GMA Pictures’ upcoming psychological horror film “P77” will be distributed in Philippine cinemas by Warner Bros. Pictures, following a contract signing held yesterday, June 16 at the GMA Network Center.

“P77” marks the seventh Filipino film to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures in the country.

Present at the signing were Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, GMA Network’s senior vice president for programming, talent management, worldwide and support group, and president and CEO of GMA Films; Nessa Valdellon, GMA Pictures executive vice president and GMA Public Affairs senior vice president; and Rico V. Gonzales, distribution director of Warner Bros. Pictures.

Also gracing the event were “P77” actress Barbie Forteza, director Derick Cabrido and screenwriter Enrico Santos.

Through the agreement, Warner Bros. Pictures will handle the local theatrical distribution of “P77,” which is scheduled to open in cinemas on July 30.

“I’m very happy that Warner is our partner here in the distribution of this film, and I believe that together, we can ensure the success of this film more and bring this movie to a wider audience,” said Gozon-Valdes.

“I’m honored to be here partnering with GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs for the next release of the local movie release of Warner Bros. I’m also very honored to be here, thank you for welcoming our partnership. We’ve been talking about this since last year and now we’re here. This is actually our 7th local movie to be distributed by Warner Bros. So I’m hoping, GMA 7 and ‘P77,’ it’s going to be the Lucky 7 for this film,” said Gonzales.

Also in attendance were GMA Public Affairs’ senior assistant vice president Angelie Atienza, viewer-directed marketing senior assistant vice president Rossette Roa, and assistant vice president for corporate communications Jojo Aquio.

“P77” (short for “Penthouse 77”) is a psychological horror film based on a story by Anj Atienza and Kristian Julao. Joining Barbie in the cast are Euwenn Mikaell, Gina Pareño and Rosanna Roces.
