Mikee Quintos is stepping into her first hosting role with GMA Public Affairs’ newest afternoon talk and cooking show, “Lutong Bahay,” airing this October 28.
This project holds deep significance for Mikee, who shared at a recent press conference at Limbaga 77 that she felt her late grandmother, whom she fondly calls “Nanay,” guided her to this new chapter.

Mikee lost her grandmother in June. It was an emotional period for her, as she recalled Nanay often expressing how much she missed seeing her on TV. Mikee had been away from the spotlight for over a year since her last project, “The Write One,” and was fervently hoping for a new opportunity. With “Lutong Bahay” now a reality, Mikee feels it was a blessing from her grandmother. “The morning after I got the news about ‘Lutong Bahay,’ I felt Nanay had a hand in making it happen for me,” she said.
At the press event, Mikee presented her family’s cherished chicken paprika recipe, one that her grandmother prepared often. “This dish is a staple in our home. It’s Nanay’s recipe, and she loved making it for us. One time, a guest asked her for the recipe, and she left out an ingredient just to keep it our little secret,” Mikee shared with a smile. “When we cook it, it feels like she’s still with us.”
Taking on this hosting role has been a new journey for Mikee, who even took a public speaking workshop to hone her skills. She’ll be joined by three of the country’s popular food content creators, “Cooking Ina” Chef Hazel Anonuevo, Chef Ylyt Manaig, and Kuya Dudut, known for their culinary expertise and engaging personalities. Together, they will explore the kitchens of celebrities, revealing family recipes and uncovering the heartfelt stories behind each dish.
“Lutong Bahay” promises viewers delightful recipes and inspiring stories with a mix of humor and warmth. Through her bubbly and engaging personality, Mikee aims to bring good vibes to each episode, while celebrity guests, including Ruru Madrid, Rocco Nacino, Pokwang, and more, will share their kitchen secrets and memories.
Tune in to “Lutong Bahay” on GTV, Mondays to Fridays at 5:45 p.m., and get ready to feel at home with Mikee Quintos and her new kapitbahays as they dish out heartwarming food and stories that celebrate family and tradition.
