Three “Voltes V: Legacy” stars have banded together and become business partners.
Elle Villanueva, who plays Eva Sanchez; Sophia Senoron, who plays Ally Chan; and Ysabel Ortega, who plays Voltes V team member Jamie Robinson are regular Nailandia customers who saw the quality of service the shop provides and decided to be franchise owners.
Before the year ends, the Nailandia branch owned by Ysabel, Elle and Sophia will rise at Il Terrazzo on Tomas Morato in Quezon City.
“Sponsors ng nails nila ang Nailandia,” explained Noreen Divina, owner of the 12-year-old foot spa and nail salon chain. “Kumbaga, pag may events punta lang sila sa Nailandia.
“Nagustuhan nila ang magandang service ng Nailandia kaya one time, nag-message sa amin si Sophia. Si Sophia ang tulay. Sabi niya, interested daw silang mag-franchise ng isang branch. Silang tatlo, sosyo.”
The new partnership is proof of how robust the business is and attests to how satisfying the services of Nailandia are.
Noreen is very happy partnering with the “Voltes V: Legacy” stars.
“Very thankful, grateful kay Lord!” said Noreen, “Thank You Lord talaga, wala lang akong masabi, thank You Lord talaga.”
The story of 12-year-old Nailandia started because of Noreen.
“So dati, pag tumatawag ‘yung husband ko (Juncynth) [nagtatanong sya] ‘Asan ka?’”
Noreen started.
“Tapos sasabihin ko, ‘Andito ako sa spa.’
‘Andiyan ka na naman? Nasa spa ka weekly? Ano kaya kung magtayo ka na ng sarili mo?’”
she related. “So parang may light bulb na lumabas sa ulo ko – oo nga naman, ano?”
From being a customer, she took the plunge and studied how to do all the services when she and her husband decided to put up their own nail salon and foot spa shop.
“So ayun, nag-aral ako, inaral ko lahat ng services. As in I know how to do all of them. Pag pumupunta ako ng mga franchise visit, kapag madaming mga clients tapos puno, tapos may waiting, hindi ko na papaalisin, ako na gagawa!”
Her weekly habit-turned-business venture led her to take courses on massage, waxing and nail care, among others.
“Dapat din pupunta ako sa California kaso ‘yung teacher sa California siya na ‘yung pumunta dito so suwerte naman na na-timing-an ko na pumunta ‘yung teacher sa California dito sa Pilipinas so sa kanya ako nag-aral.”
During the pandemic, businesses like Nailandia, deemed non-essential, were closed during the lockdown.
“So nagsara kami mga one and a half years, on and off iyon,” she related. “‘Di ba August nagluwag tapos by December nag-strict na naman sila?
“Hindi ko naman sinisingil ng royalty ang mga branches kapag sarado sila kasi nakakaawa din naman, ano?”
Since the lockdown restrictions were relaxed and a semblance of normalcy has returned, customers have returned in droves.
Nailandia has bounced back – and how.
“And ito na nagluwag na, ay naku, dagsa, dagsa ang mga customers namin. Nasabik ang mga tao sa services namin, sobra,” said Noreen.
Currently, Nailandia can be found in the whole country.
“And soon baka sa UAE or sa US,” Noreen shared.
