The movie features award-winning actor Carlo Aquino and newcomer Eisel Serrano in a romance drama about two people connected beyond time and place.

The story revolves around a screenwriter who loses her mojo following a devastating breakup. After six long years of being together, Ikay (Eisel) rejects her boyfriend’s proposal of marriage. She packs her bags and decides to go to the province. On her way to Baguio, she “meets” a mysterious guy Uly (Carlo) through an old push-to-talk phone. They immediately connect and become friends. The friendship develops into love, but then complications ensue as Uly seems to be from the past.

Veteran producer Myleen Ongkiko, one of the owners of Studio Three Sixty, said the pair exhibited surprising chemistry on the screen. And having worked with several Star Magic artists before – from newbies to superstars – Ongkiko knew a right pairing when she sees one.

“Si Eisel is a very good listener and student, she works hard on her character,” she described. “Si Carlo naman is so accommodating sa lahat, so he gives guidance to Eisel and makes her feel comfortable agad. So surprisingly, from first to last, napaka kumportable nila at may chemistry.”

“Love You Long Time,” she said, is the type of story that will thrill cinema goers of all ages.

“This is for all audiences. We thought of this for the millennial [audience] but we saw it can be enjoyed across ages because number one, it is very entertaining and nandun pa rin yung fairy tale-ish story, but towards the end, reality will hit you.”

“Love You Long Time” is directed by JP Tabac and written by Gena Tenaja. It opens in cinemas starting April 8.
