WHAT’S the real score between former “Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11” housemates Fyang Smith and JM Ibarra?
At the Star Magic Spotlight press conference on March 27, held at Coffee Project in Quezon City, the two young stars openly admitted to sharing a genuine bond — but stopped short of admitting anything romantic
For JM, as they enjoy each other’s company and there’s mutual respect, that’s what matters. And if anyone were to come between them, he made it clear that he wouldn’t allow it. “Wala nang makakasingit,” Fyang echoed.
But is JM courting Fyang?
“Siguro sa ngayon focus talaga kami sa trabaho, sa career,” said JM. “Naniniwala naman ako darating ako sa puntong ‘yon.”
Currently, both are focused on work and have made a conscious decision not to let their rising popularity affect them.
“Kung ano po kami sa loob ng Bahay ni Kuya, ganon pa rin po kami pag labas,” said Fyang.
When asked about their privacy, JM shared, “Sa ngayon po, parang limitado po ‘yung pribadong moments namin, kasi kahit saan po kami magpunta, makikita namin nasa social media na. Siguro sign na po ‘yun ng kasikatan, pero iniisip na lang po namin na nakikilala na kami ng karamihan… grateful po kami d’on.”
Proof that the two are enjoying wide popularity is their being chosen to star in the music video of Regine Velasquez’ “Wherever You Are.” Further, JM and Fyang are the voice actors for the Tagalog-dubbed version of the 2024 South Korean drama film “Picnic.” Produced by Lotte Entertainment and brought to local audiences by Nathan Studios, the movie is set to premiere in cinemas nationwide this May.
Fyang said dubbing was a novel experience. “Kapag nagda-dub, kailangang pumasok sa ibang mundo… kami mismo ang nag-aadjust upang maipakita ang tamang emosyon nila (characters).”
JM and Fyang have a cameo appearance in Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino’s “My Love Will Make You Disappear,” showing in theaters nationwide. Then on April 5, they will join the other PBB Gen 11 housemates at “The Unforgettabolabolabol,” set to happen at SM North Edsa Skydome.
