The price of a VIP ticket for the 74th Miss Universe in Thailand is raising eyebrows – it’s almost the same as the newly released iPhone 17 Pro Max.
According to the Miss Universe Organization, the VIP ticket is priced at around 50,000 Thai baht (₱89,000), while the most affordable ticket costs 3,500 baht (₱6,300). This has pageant fans asking: Is it still worth watching live?
For many Filipino fans, the Miss Universe pageant is not just an event but a tradition. Their passion has always been compared to national pride much like Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, who continues to use her voice for the Philippines, even joining the fight against corruption at EDSA.
Others argue that with the steep ticket price, it may be wiser to watch the pageant online or through live broadcasts. After all, technology now brings the glitz and glamour of the Miss Universe stage straight to everyone’s homes.
Even before the grand night in Bangkok, the Miss Universe Organization announced that Puerto Rico will host the 75th Miss Universe competition in November 2026.
“Historic! Puerto Rico will host the 75th anniversary of the Miss Universe competition in November 2026! An entire year of celebrations, culture, music, and joy on the Island of Enchantment. Over 135 countries, one iconic stage: The Choliseo. See you in Puerto Rico for the world’s biggest celebration!” the MUO shared on social media.
Carrying the Philippine flag at Miss Universe 2025 is Ahtisa Manalo, who earned her crown earlier this year. She recently arrived in Thailand, visited the Miss Universe Headquarters in Bangkok, and is serving as host for Mister International 2025, where fellow Filipino Kirk Bondad will compete.
Also in Thailand is Miss Grand Philippines 2025, Emma Tiglao, who completed a pictorial with a Thai-based makeup artist. Her shots will be used for her official pageant profile ahead of the Miss Grand International coronation on October 18 at MGI Hall, where outgoing queen Christine Juliane Opiaza will crown her successor.
