Teacher Georcelle on moving with rhythm and purpose

There were more than 700 aspiring dancers, as young as five years old to 71, all trying to learn and adapt to the rudiments of movement and grace.

That was what Georcelle Dapat-Sy, fondly called Teacher Georcelle, has been successfully doing as the artistic director of the G-Force Dance Company.

Teacher Georcelle, who started doing choreography at 16, is the highly-recognized dancer-choreographer behind G-Force, a dance group in the Philippines which recently marked two decades in dance and entertainment.

G-Force humbly started with an all-girls dance group on January 16, 2005. Immediately after, ABS-CBN’s Sunday noontime show, “ASAP,” prompted them to form a bigger dance company that can help all the shows of the network.

Now G-Force is a force to reckon with when it comes to dancing. So many kids and parents are believers of G-Force’s advocacy and style.

“Because we’re not just teaching steps – we’re shaping mindsets,” insisted Teacher Georcelle. “Our advocacy is rooted in self-expression, discipline and identity. Parents see how we nurture confidence; kids feel seen and safe in their authenticity.

To date, G-Force has multiple branches in the country – Quezon City, BGC (Bonifacio Global City). Alabang, Shangri-La and even Cebu.

The original dancers of G-Force – Gelai Aguzar and Bhe Briones – are still with her after two decades and Teacher Georcelle cannot be any prouder.

“It’s humbling and deeply fulfilling,” said Teacher Georcelle. “What started as a small movement has become a national force – not just in dance, but in culture.

“I’ve realized that consistency in passion and purpose creates legacy. G-Force has become a platform for transformation – of lives, careers and mindsets.”

Teacher Georcelle staged the dance recital because after 20 years of giving, she felt it was time to do something momentous.

“I felt it was time to pause and realign – with myself and with our mission,” Teacher Georcelle said. “The retreat was a sacred space for reconnection: to our roots, to our bodies and to the soul of dance.

“It became a turning point in how I wish to lead G-Force into its next chapter. Dance gave me a voice when I didn’t have the words. It taught me leadership, resilience and faith. It’s how I healed, how I connected, and how I continue to evolve.”

G-Force Project 2025 was successfully staged at the Mall of Asia Arena, with 34 classes. Most of the presentations used OPM (Original Pilipino Music) and Teacher Georcelle took pride in that.

“G-Force will continue to be a cultural movement – integrating more technology, wellness and global collaborations,” said Teacher Georcelle. “But at its core, we will always be about people – helping the next generation move not just with rhythm, but with purpose.”
