Coco Martin was happy to announce that his character, Tanggol, in the Kapamilya primetime series, “Batang Quiapo,” will be starting a new chapter starting this week.
With the full understanding of his responsibilities as a hero to many children and adults alike, Coco said Tanggol will transform into a good and better person as he begins a new chapter in his life in the hit series.
“Magsisimula na ang bagong yugto ng buhay ni Tanggol. Sa lahat ng kanyang mga natutunan sa kalye, sa Quiapo, at sa buhay, na-realize na niya na siguro panahon na para magkaroon din ng pagbabago sa kanyang buhay. Tignan natin kung ano ang magiging bagong journey ni Tanggol,” said the actor at a media conference last Thursday at Luxent Hotel Ballroom in Quezon City.
Coco added that viewers should watch for the new developments, as well as the new characters who will join the story, as Tanggol finally commits to become a better person by turning his back on his vices.
Aside from the shift in Tanggol’s character, Coco promised an explosive episode as the lives of the different characters will finally intertwine and cause chaos among their respective groups.
The Kapamilya primetime hero also expressed his appreciation to the viewers who continue to tune in from all over the world and for already making “Batang Quiapo” a big part of their lives ever since its premiere in February.
“Nagpapasalamat kami sa lahat ng taong nagmamahal at sumusuporta sa ‘Batang Quiapo’ sa simula’t simula pa. Kayo ang dahilan kung bakit naging maganda ang kinalabasan ng aming programa. Maraming, maraming salamat po sa lahat ng mga pagtulong at pagmamahal niyo sa amin,” said Coco, who serves as an actor, co-producer, and one of the directors of the series.
Meanwhile, the cast members of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” have been visiting viewers in their homes in different parts of the Philippines for its “Katok Bahay” activity to personally chat with them about their favorite moments in the series so far.
“FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” premiered strongly in February 2023, earning 44 million total online views in its first week alone. It has consistently hit record-breaking concurrent views online on Kapamilya Online Live and continues to be loved by Filipinos around the world as Tanggol, Mokang, Lola Tindeng, and other characters have become household names.
