Senator Pia Cayetano could not stop her emotions when she was addressing a negligent father on “CIA with BA” last Sunday.
The father, Christian, was reprimanded after causing serious injuries to his child due to reckless behavior. Christian had taken one of his three children on a motorcycle ride while intoxicated, leading to an accident. Senator Pia called him out for initially keeping it a secret, emphasizing that their pride was not a valid reason for not seeking help.
“Hindi ko sinasabing masama kang tao,” Sen. Pia told Christian. “Hindi ka masamang tao, pero may chance ka pa [na] maging mas magaling na tatay at mas magaling na asawa.”
Senator Alan Peter Cayetano also highlighted that Christian’s actions could be considered a crime under VAWC and child abuse laws, as it wasn’t a genuine accident but a result of neglect.
In the end, Christian and his wife, Christine, asked for forgiveness from Angelita and pledged to be better parents and son-in-law and daughter to her. The show promised assistance to Christian, including support for starting a small furniture business and vocational education through TESDA. For Angelita, “CIA with BA” would help her start a small nail care business.
