DESPITE not making it to the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 short list of movies, “Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme” is expected to become a blockbuster after favorable reviews following Friday’s successful red-carpet at SM Mega Mall and advance screening at the Ayala Malls Market! Market!
“Extremely entertaining,” “truly terrifying,” “shockingly scary” were just some of the descriptions for the latest version of the well-loved Regal horror trilogy, this time under the helm of Richard Somes (“Glitch”), Jerrold Tarog (“Mukbang”) and Joey de Guzman (“Rage”).
It’s been almost a decade since the last “Shake, Rattle & Roll” – “Shake, Rattle & Roll XV” with Dondon Santos, Jerrold Tarog and Perci Intalana at the helm – and producer Roselle Monteverde said she has no regrets reviving the horror franchise.
“I am extremely overjoyed and having no regrets in producing #ShakeRattleRollExtreme after nine years!” she wrote on Facebook. “The comeback is more than great!”
She congratulated all the people behind the production and said “Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme” is best enjoyed in cinema.

“Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme” brings the chills with its presentation of the dangers of social media (“Mukbang”), the lure of the devil to children (“Glitch”) and a new kind of virus (“Rage”). It stars Iza Calzado, Jane Oineza, Jane de Leon, RK Bagatsing, Paul Salas, Paolo Gumabao, AC Bonifacio, Donna Cariaga, Rob Gomez, Angel Guardian, Sarah Edwards, Dustin Yu, Miggs Cuaderno, Mika Reins, Bryce Eusebio, Jewel Milag, Esnyr Ranollo, Jana Taladro, Elle Villanueva, Phi Palmos, Ninong Ry, Ian Ginema, Francis Mata, Jericho Ejercito and Girlie Ejercito.
