PAOLO Contis keeps on getting more and more projects.

After being chosen as one of the hosts of GMA’s noontime show, “Eat Bulaga,” the versatile actor now leads the trippy MAVX Productions Inc. presentation, “Ang Pangarap Kong Oskars.”

A groundbreaking comedy directed by Jules Katanyag, “Oskars” is a rollercoaster trip of hilarity, thrills, and unexpected twists.

“Kakaiba po ang humor. Pero ‘yan po ang goal ng MAVX, makapagbigay ng ibang putahe,” said Paolo at the movie’s red-carpet premiere last Friday at SM the Block.

Paolo is joined by Joross Gamboa in a fascinating voyage that brings audiences from the concrete jungle to the virgin forest of Catanduanes.

Paolo plays foolhardy producer Bobby B., who partners with the eccentric filmmaker DMZ, played by Joross, for a passion project that will ultimately win them an “Oskar”!

We follow the narrative of two ambitious dreamers as they surmount various challenges, including financing their magnum opus and finding the right people to work on it.

As chance would have it, our brave warriors experience a misfortune – or possibly a cunning twist of fate.

In a stroke of luck, they come up with a bold concept that just might prevent their project from failing completely.

They come up with a plot to cast actual “aswangs”– fabled, mythical creatures from Filipino folklore – as the leads in their movie.

With nothing but their wits, tenacity, and a camera, our characters plunge headfirst into this unexplored region with a mixture of thrill and anxiety.

Their hilarious mishaps happen as they traverse the bizarre and uncanny, weaving a tapestry of side-splitting moments that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

“Ang Pangarap Kong Oskars” is an ode to imagination, camaraderie, and the unrestricted spirit of pursuing goals.

To create a distinctive film experience, it combines humor, fantasy, and a few touching scenes.

The characters come to life thanks to Paolo and Joross’ comedic timing and chemistry – which will appeal to viewers from different backgrounds.

“Ang Pangarap Kong Oskars” has all the makings of a cinematic classic, thanks to its original premise, brilliant cast, and superb storytelling.

Playing important roles are Kate Alejandrino as Odessa, Long Mejia as Ka Pedro, Jon Santos as Boss V, Gian Magdangal as Nonong, Faye Lorenzo as Gina, Milo Elmido as Mariposa, and Yukii Takahashi as Ganda.

It also stars Junjun Quintana as Junjun Vivo, Leo Bruno as Roman Vasquez, Elaine Ochoa as Katie dela Vega, Zweden Obias as PD Yeye, Joseph Villanueva as Mama Mee, Ian Ignacio as Boy T, Paeng Sudayan as ArtDep Dodo, VJ Mendoza as AD Wang, Victor Medina as PA Adam, Edmar Guanlao as Soundman and JMee Katanyag as Chanda the Editor.

“Ang Pangarap Kong Oskars” opens in cinemas starting June 28.
